An Oakland transit cop struggling to handcuff a 22-year-old man, stood up over the suspect and fired a single shot into his back while fellow officers watched. That what's seen in a short video taken on New Year's by a train passenger who caught the arrest-turned-execution on film. Source
The shooting death of Oscar Grant did not have to happen. Even if the police were busting him for being involved in a fight on the train. Unarmed, he pleaded with cops not to harm him or not to taser him, according to a friend who witnessed the shooting. The officer shot anyway. He was a young father and husband.
The family of the victim (see second video below) is suing the transit police for $25 million. ...
The video above is apparently just one of the various recordings of the incident that have surfaced. There were a lot of people around when this occurred, and plenty of armed officers too, at least five. It was New Year's and parties were letting out.
And get this, the lawyer says transit cops confiscated cell phone images from people who witnessed and photographed what went down in Oakland. No way!!

I REALLY DOUBT THAT ANYTHING WILL HAPPEN TO THE POLICE AT ALL!!! THEY WILL COME UP WITH SOME STORYLINE THAT THE MAN WAS FIGHTING WITH THEM, HIT AN OFFICER(IF YOU CAN CALL THEM THAT) OR WAS GOING FOR THE COPS GUN. WE ALL KNOW THEY WILL DIG UP ALL THE DIRT THEY CAN ON THIS MAN TO MAKE HIM LOOK BAD AND WHAT THE COP DID LOOK OK. I CAN'T SAY WHY THE COPS CAME IN FORCE OR IF THERE WAS REALL A FIGHT. LISTEN, IT WAS NEWYEARS EVE EVERYONE WAS, ME TOO! WHITE PEOPLE GET DRUNK TEAR UP THE BARS, FLIP CARS ECT. AND FIGHT AS WELL BUT NO ONE STANDS OVER THEM AND SHOOTS IN THE BACK, THAT'S WHAT COWARDS DO. OFFICER(OR LACK THERE OF) YOU HAVE TO LIVE WITH THIS FOR THE REST OF YOUR LIFE-GOOD LUCK,NOT!! PISSED IN PHILLY.

Oh dont we just talk so much about all the injustices, but what are we actually doing about it. The NAACP seem to be the only leadership we as Black people have and we do need leadership to get anything accomplished. If the NAACP would stop spending so much time on "gayla affairs", we just may get something done.
And then if Black folks would get up off their behinds and quit going to work with the bedroom slippers on and hair in a wrap cause they going to the club later, we could run our own businesses and quit begging Massa to be nice to us!
Black people we are our own worst enemies. When we learn to show love to each, we can command the respect of many. There! I said it! Now sue me!

I truly hope this man and his family get justice. Law enforcement has been getting away with things like this for years.
Now what I don't understand is why people put a price on justice..Anything happens the first word is SUE! I know people want justice but can you at least bury your child before thinking about getting paid.

To Blogger Grichieg, your comment is just as Assinine and Idiotic as you are.
Irregardless of whether Obama's mother is black or white, it goes without thought that Obama would say he owes what he's accomplished today to his mother, as his dad left this white woman and it was left to his mother to basically raise him alone!
If your pea brain can possibly wrap itself around these simple elementary facts:
Obama is Black!
He refers to himself as a Black Man!
He considers himself Black!
He does not use the term Multiracial!
He married a Black Woman!
His children are Black!
He is Black according to the lineage of his Dad!
Now, Blogger Gremlin Grichieg, if your brain can be elevated just a smidgen above that of a 4 yr. old child, its possible you might also be able to grasp this simple concept:
A man is defined according to the lineage of his Father/Dad, and "NOT" (REPEAT) "NOT" his Mother... Imbecile!!!
I.e., whoever his Dad was so Man is defined as, thus the Heritage, the Lineage of man is determined by the dad, not the mother...As it is written according to Biblical Scripture!!! Jesus/Yashua is also referred to in scripture as the "Son of Man" Not the son of woman, God made man first, thus whatever came after was created from man, not woman. Do you think you can possibly grasp these few simple concepts...Jackass!!!
Oops! Sorry, almost forgot, people like you never pick up a Bible and read it, many of us continuously forget, the Bible is a sacrilege to people like you! My Bad!!!

I agree with Bronson.
Although we have surely shown a sign of hope. I hope many dont take the election as a new wave. There are still WAY TOOO many racists out there, and way too many people whom think they are better than any other race for some dumb reason. And this election is only a reason those same unfortunate people whom consider themselves privledged to be a certain color have to act out.
I feel very outraged for this young man and his family.
This was certainly old blooded. And unjustified.
I am white. Believing in God, I see no difference in color. And anyone who does is plain ignorant.

How is it that they expect people to respect the police and they commit vile acts like this? Why should we? They're supposed to be here to protect us and these are the things they do? Looks like we need protection from the police! Now if somebody had've shot that cop they would be raising holy hell about it talking about killing the guy if they caught him. Well, what about this? There's no way they would have done a white guy like this. No way! And we don't need to put up with this kind of b/s either!
