It was announced Wednesday night that the search for the remains of a Jersey City baby has moved to Kentucky, but police fear that the corpse has already been incinerated. Details
Please read below to get the full story of this horrifying tale.

We've all heard about medical mistakes before but what happened to one mother in New Jersey is beyond comprehension. Kaylnn Moore told reporters in New York yesterday that when she went into labor a month early on December 21, doctors at Christ Hospital in Jersey decided to do a C-section.
But instead of getting her Christmas miracle, a healthy baby boy named Bashir, Moore's son was stillborn. Devastated, the young mother left her baby's remains in the care of the hospital and went home. When she came back to claim him, the hospital couldn't find his body. That's right, you heard me, the Christ Hospital claimed it couldn't find Bashir. ...
How does a hospital lose an infant's body?

If that wasn't bad enough, Moore says police told her that her son had accidentally been thrown in the trash; tossed away like garbage. How in the world could that happen? Surely, medical professionals can tell the difference between a little black boy and a pile of trash, right? Apparently, not because now officials are searching dumps in New Jersey and Pennsylvania looking for Bashir's remains.
It makes me wonder about the state of health care in this country. And, it should make you think the next time you check in the hospital.

This is one of the worst hospitals, my daughter has gone there several times for treatment of Asthma and it has been a horrible experience. The care from the doctors and mostly the nurse's is unbelievable. One time my daughter was waiting to be treated with medication for an asthma attack but the nurse taking care of her jumped on the phone in the nurses station and proceeded to talk when her legs propped up on the desk and laughing, I walked over and said my daughter is waiting to be treated she told me she was on the line and would be there as soon as she was done. Needless to say I broke fool and demanded someone help my daughter before she passes out.

I basically experienced a similiar situation back in 1999 with the birth of my twins. They passed away and I was able to hold them, name them, and all. I was saddened because I wasn't able to have a homegoing service or anything. I never spoke to a grief counselor either. nothing was explained to me...it just happened! When my family and I tried to make the arrangements a body couldn't be produced for them. I NEVER signed anything to have their remains donated to science or anything. My condolensces to the family, and I know how the mother feels.

#8 ,you're exactly right.Had the young mother been white, that would,ve made it all right."Let's dispose of the stillborn ,properly".In a professional,by the book way,."Let's give her time." The doctor's disposed of the stillborn w/out even thinking! No empathy, sympathy, compassion or nothing,.That's freakin ludacris!!!My opinion, they're not ready yet, they're not ready for change! It'll probably be a year before they finally get it.If they did there homework back in the day, they would,ve know "A change was coming".This was not something that just came out of the blue. This was in the works some 25 yrs ago.And they still insist upon doin things their way and thinking nothing of it.That is not right, that is so unprofessional.Christ Hospital needs to give Miss Moore a national apology, and to show true remorse, they should foot her bill for Memorial services. That's not going to bring her stillborn back ,but it will show that it was not just swept under the rug! Look how Kings County did,w/ the woman who feel out in the waiting room, and the freakin doctor's and nurse's just walking by,come to find out the woman died. It's sad, it's scary. Miss Moore, I don't know you ,but you do have my deepest condolences.

Yes, it's a terrible thing that has happened to this family and the baby... As it was said in a comment earlier the hospital staff are human beings and mistakes are made every day in every hospital!!!! i'm a clinical tech for 15 years and i've seen alot.....with being said i still would recieve care by my hospital staff. The Human error that is made does not out weigh the healthcare team that providing healing, comfort and service . The hospital that is involved should own up to their mistake and actions should be taken to assure that this tradegy doesnot happen again.

THAT'S AWFUL! IF THEY WERE CONCERNED ABOUT HER NOT HAVING HEALTH CARE, THEY DON'T HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT THAT ANYMORE CUZ SHE'S ABOUT TO GET PAID A FEW MILLION FOR THAT!!! RESPECTING AND HONORING THE DECEASED IS JUST AS IMPORTANT AS HONORING LIVING AND SHE HAS EVERY RIGHT TO SUIT AND JUDGE OR JURY WOULD LET THEM GET AWAY WITH THAT ONE...

I meant no judge or jury would let them get away with that mistake. She better not settle if its no less than one million!

I don't care how heartfelt the hospital's apology was, this young woman wanted to give her child a decent burial. Damn the hospital. I don't know what other facts could come out except they threw away a baby and must be made to pay. I guess its fine to let Bashir and his mother know his life and hers didn't amount to anything.

This appalls me!!! I can not comprehend why a hospital would make such a cruel and thoughtless mistake?? I can only assume it because the baby was black and they saw a teen mother who they probably stereotyped as some type of "crack head". I would sue the hell out of these bastards if I were that young lady. They deserve a place in hell for this. I bet if it were a damn dog, they would have made sure its body was kept safe and sound until the owner could claim it.

I don't see this as a mistake. This was NOT a mistake. The person(s) who picked this stillborn BLACK male child up, and dumped him over into a waste bin, FULLY knew what it was that they were throwing away. It was NOT a mistake. I see it as YET one more reminder, yet another tap on our shoulder, yet one more wake up call being sounded for blackfolk. Just as with the recent Bart Police killing in Oakland of 22 year old black male Oscar Grant... there are NO MISTAKES being made when it comes to disrespecting, devaluing the lives and the remains, and ultimately snuffing out the lives of black people. I see NO mistakes here.
