President Barack Hussein Obama took the presidential oath again last night at the White House. In a quick ceremony, without the Bible, Chief Justice Roberts again administered the oath, this time in the exact language that is presented in our Constitution:
There's no formal name for what President Obama and Chief Justice John G. Roberts Jr. did last night.
After flubbing his one role on Inauguration Day -- administering the oath of office to Obama -- Roberts traveled to the White House to re-administer the oath.
Just to make sure.
"We decided it was so much fun . . .," Obama joked while sitting on a couch in the Map Room. Obama stood and walked over to make small talk with pool reporters as Roberts donned his black robe.
"Are you ready to take the oath?" Roberts asked.
"I am, and we're going to do it very slowly," Obama replied. Source
President Obama is the third President to retake the oath of office. Presidents Calvin Coolidge and Chester A. Arthur also had do-overs.
After a flawless recitation that included no Bible and took 25 seconds, Roberts smiled and said, "Congratulations, again."
Obama said, "Thank you, sir," and then added: "All right. The bad news for the [reporters] is there's 12 more balls."
A president is required by the Constitution to say, "I do solemnly swear that I will faithfully execute the office of president of the United States, and will to the best of my ability, preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States."
At the inauguration, Roberts instead said: "that I will execute the office of president to the United States faithfully."
In a statement, White House counsel Greg Craig said the oath was re-administered "out of an abundance of caution."
"We believe that the oath of office was administered effectively and that the President was sworn in appropriately yesterday. But the oath appears in the Constitution itself," Craig's statement said. Source

I am glad they redid the oath. There are so many haters out there, you know it was coming "he is not legally the president". So to nip it in the bud and to stop any lawsuits accept it. President Obama IS in the house

Greta when did you give your life up? You have had the opportunity to advance yourselves your entire lives. You think just because a half white half black was elected President that your life is going to change? You live in the greatest country in the world, try being black in other countries of the world. American blacks are the most prosperous in the world. It will never be enough for people like you. What he changed right away was for the government to pay for abortions, closed our only prison for terriost and stop the trial for the master mind of 911. This 1/2 & 1/2 is not good for our people or our country.
STOP spreading SCAMS on the blogs. FOR REAL

That's good that there was a Re-Take of the Oath. But, I would have rather seen it TELEVISED!
In my opinion, I don't think it was FAIR to the AMERICAN PEOPLE! ALL AMERICANS DESERVED to SEE this!!!! It was not FAIR, HEARING A GRAINY AZZ AUDIO AND A FEW DAMN PICS TO PROVE TO AMERICA!!!!!!!!

Its too bad Justice Roberts had to flub it the first time, but it was still inspiring to see Barack Obama sworn in as the 44th President of the United States.

He had to take the oath again or it would have been null and void...when you take the oath of enlistment to serve in the military, that oath is not valid if it isn't administered properly...any oath dealing with the United States whether it's to be a peace officer, military enlisted/commissioned officer, civil servant, or even the President must be effectively and properly administered or you are not under the obligation of said oath...Glad to hear that it was done over or else, Barack would have had no legal rights to take action...

Justice Roberts was so shook up to see a BM standing in front of him...Get use to it people!!!!!!!...and #8,thats not true...Obama was president on Jan 20th at 12 noon even if he would have been at home in the bathtub....check your resources again.I agree with him retaking the oath, but if he had not he would still legally be president.
