You see?
In politics you don't always have to carry your feelings in your hands. Think about it, a few months ago, Rainbow/PUSH Coalition founder Rev. Jesse Jackson got busted when talking about clipping candidate Obama (so to speak). Now, he's welcoming the new president with open arms.
Essence.com posted an open letter to Obama from Jackson that he probably wouldn't have written to Secretary of State Hillary Clinton had she become president and wouldn't have even bothered writing to Sen. John McCain.
Dear Mr. President:
What a joy and relief it is to be able to salute you as President Obama. Congratulations on a magnificently run campaign. Your discipline, vision, strength and courage will take America and the world a long way. ...
Now that we have made it through the courtship of the primary season, the engagement party in Grant Park on November 4th, and the wedding on January 20th, we're entering into marriage--the final stage, one that is full of challenges.
It's high noon in our politics, where hope abounds. But it is midnight in our economics. But we have hope that the darkness will lead to a new light that will shine even brighter. We are in a time of the worst economic crisis of the last half century, and amid expanding wars and conflicts in Iraq, the Middle East and Africa. The two great themes of ending poverty at home and unnecessary wars abroad must dominate our priorities.

Jesse did stand up for us as a people in the 50's, 60's and beyond. He was extremely young when he started and repeatedly put himself in major leadership positions and in harms way so that we could all enjoy a better quality of life. All that involved a lot of stress and hard work. Which is why it is so hard to understand that now that his work and that of many our other heros is finally achieving a result most never thought we'd see in our lifetime, he was not on board. We couldn't get an education before. Now our President and First Lady graduated from Harvard. President Obama, through hard work and study, has achieved an education most of can only dream of. So when he speaks to us Rev. Jackson says he's talking down to us? No, he's just being himself. And from what I can see he couldn't be more real. And where does Rev. Jackson get off condemning people who sound educated? Last time I looked, he was blessed with several degrees. As a people, let's celebrate education, not put it down. It's the fastest and most stable ticket out of poverty I can think of. ** I also want to extend props to "IPaid99Bucks..." interpretation of Rev. Jackson's letter. That rewrite was outstanding!!!

Man oh man how evil we can be. Yes we were all disappointed at the statements made by Jesse during President Obama's (I love typing that) campaign. However, it doesn't take away the fact that he truly has done some good for America. That can't be denied. Most of these comments are quite disrespectful and very harsh.
Oh and LOL at #9.

I find it ignorant we are more concerned about an historical election then want is really at stake as a nation.
All of congress is responsible for this mess democrats and Republicans alike. This whole election was a diversion to avoid the major issues that are destroying the American People. Wake up what is the change that Obama promised? His cabinet is full of ex-Clinton administration, big labor bosses supported him, now the payback is to force the Freedom Choice Act for union workers, and this Bill really means workers will not have a choice. 1.3 million Abortions per year and now Obama overturned the ban on US taxpayer’s moneys to help fund international groups that perform and support abortions. Why is the government in the business of supporting, funding, killing the unborn and selling embryos? Maybe you do not believe in GOD and that will be
your downfall. Are rulers are corrupted and Obama is no different.
Our rights are being stripped away, how much more filthy and corrupted does America has to get before us the people do something about it… Pay attention to what is really going on, and I pray that you have the wisdom to be just and do what is right regardless of color. Our homes, our jobs, our rights are dignity and even our beliefs in God are being corrupted by a small minority. These are not the days of MLK, people believed in God back then and women were not aborting their children and the government was not in the business of killing babies. Banks were fair and lenders were not stealing and the goverment believed in God and cared about the people. Do you really think that $819 billion spending package is coming our way? I think again. Wait and watch the gas prices rise at the pumps again. Next they will be telling us there is a shortage of oil.

No. 9, Right on! I was so disgusted by Jesse's Open Letter to our President, I would not read it all. He appears to be an unauthentic human being. He needs to sit down in his rocking chair. When they showed him crying after President Obama won, all I could think about was comic relief midstream of my own happy tears. While I believe in forgiveness as God forgives us, I do think Jesse needs to be still and allow the President to work his show as he has his work cut out and Jesse does not need to be a part of the problem. He messed up, and does not deserve a front, middle or back row seat in President Obama's life. After all if I was the President, I would not trust Jesse nowhere near me.

I felt very strongly about that derogatory comment comming from Jessie Jackson, I'm sure tht he was standing with a white man when he made that statment, even though was not there. This is the exact same kind of Uncle Tom, Jim Crow, Jump Junk, that happend wduring slavery times, Well those times are over now, and we know that he can see, how her ruined Jessie Jrs. seat in the white house.Shame on you Dad, check out that back ground, low right? We forgive you, lest we forget!
