Prince William County Commonwealth's Attorney Paul Ebert said Wednesday that the medical examiner's report shows the cause of Alexis Glover's death was drowning and exposure to cold.
Although arrested and released from police custody a little over a month ago, Glover's adoptive mother, who initially told authorities that the girl had run away, has been arrested again.
After local police searched her property, she was charged with felony child neglect and filing a false police report. Further charges are "likely."

A 13-year-old developmentally disabled girl disappeared last Wednesday (Jan. 7) from the parking lot of the Manassas, VA, Central Community Library.
Due to other medical issues, the community searched diligently in hopes of getting her much-needed medication.
Sadly, Lexie's body was found in a creek eight miles away from the library and two days after she was reported missing.
The girl's mom spoke to reporters a few days ago pleading with people to come forward with any information leading to the person(s) connected with her daughter's death.
However, on Tuesday night, 44-year-old Alfreedia Glover, the adoptive mother of Alexis was arrested for felony, child neglect and for filing a false police report. This comes after police searched cars, property, etc.
Police believe that Alexis Glover was murdered at an unknown location, and her body was dumped in Woodbridge. As of now, no murder charges have been filed in Glover's death.
Alfreedia Glover is currently being held without bond.

I worked in adoption/foster care for 16 years and I know that most foster parents and some adoptive parents are in it because of the money and thus the children still suffer. If the bio parent complains then the state makes damn sure the parent never sees the child again. I know what I am talking about because I worked in the system and it happened all the time. Sometimes the caseworker knows that they are putting the child in a bad situation all they care about is getting the child out of the system and numbers. So may Lexie rest in peace. The state should have left her in the care of her biological parents. The state would rather the foster parent kill or mistreat child than the biological parent. Pamela story is true. I don't know her but I have seen that happen also

I'm so very sorry that this sweet little girl had to endure the likes of a woman like Alfreedia. Putting her in jail is not enough. I hope she burns in HELL for what she did to this child. So many people can't have kids, and what to share there homes and there hearts with kids who need it. And this witch is who the child adoptive people put this child with. How sad.

More children die in foster care and at the hands of adoptive parents, especially those placed by the state, than for any other reasons. The government/state has covered this up for years. Rarely do we even hear of the deaths in these cases. Dominic James of Springfield, Mo; Cassandra Killpack Salt Lake City, Utah; Dominic Williams of St. Louis, MO.....I could go on and on. All of these children died because of greed. Not ALL, but most foster parents see fostering children as just a job and are doing it solely for the money, most foster parents that adopt through DFS/DSS are enticed by the money, by the social workers. Children shoiuld be wanted, not needed to help you meet your financial expenses. Overall, there is more abuse of these children and it's hushed up. The worse part of it is that our Legislatures continue to give money to the system and act as if no problems exist. Ask a DFS/DSS worker if they noticed a recession? They kept their jobs, they didn't have lay-offs and they never stopped hiring. Many of the workers "play" all day. They are reading books, playing on the internet, "sleeping"....yes sleeping while clients sit for hours waiting to be seen. That agency is the biggest waste of money. In a civilized society you would think that our children wouldn't be stolen for money legally by the state. Pamela go to www.shreddedsociety.com, there is also a women's support group breakingthesilence.com There are many resources that might help for it is becoming increaingly noticed by many that this is a big money game and women are treated unfairly in the Family Court. Not to say that men are not too, it really depends on the judges. I've had a male judge who doesn't like women and my adult son had a female judge who hates men. It's a shame it boils down to people who have issues themselves to determine the "best interest" of our children. This country certainly needs change and it needs to begin in our legal justice system along with social services.
