Hey, I did it in 2007 and my goodness...I've never been to a party like that in my life, my last lifetime, or the lifetime before that. I'm just so sad I couldn't make it this year to participate in the most colorful, sexually-driven confusion tht I've ever seen.
So for those of us who have to miss our chance to visit a fantasy world called Reckless Abandon, here's a sample courtesy of YouTube.

Although many only see Mardi Gras as the pandering for boob showing, it's actually a family event. You'll only see that type of behavior in the French Quarters and many families would not want their children seeing such provocative behavior. I'm not knocking Trinidad and I'm quite sure many horny, sexually addicted individuals, me included, would have a ball but there ain't nothing nothing like MARDI GRAS!!"Laissez Les Bon Temps Roulez" Ya heard me

Trinidad Carnival is the greatest show on earth bar none. There is something for everyone. The energy is intense and you leave with such a feeling of revival, it's honestly an undescribable experience. Trinidad Carnival 2010 don't miss it.

Let’s not get this twisted. The dance is called wining or wine (Jamaica has a "dutty wine", but to me it does not work moving on the road as is it more "suitable" to the confines of a dancehall). Trini wine is definitely sexually suggestive, but it's really about dry humping which mimics our natural urges to procreate. It is a life affirming dance, though many dance it way too lewd. Trinidad's Carnival has a lot of historical roots and traditions, and it's definitely not out to promote sexual promiscuity, even in perception. Feel me.
Rio and Mardi Gras may be better known, but Trinidad Carnival is one of the world's best yearly festivals.

Don't even try to compare Mardi Gras to Trini Carnival. There is no match and Trinidad Carnival beats Mardi Gras any day of the week. There are way more freedoms in Trinidad than there are in Louisiana during that time and the people are less violent as well. Not to mention you Carnival in Trinidad starts unofficially in December and keeps going until the last week of February. No place on earth has this and Rio is the only close competitor.

All I got to say is be "careful", enjoy the fuits of ther cultures. We should embrace the heritage and beauty that other cultures have to offer. No one should leave this earth, without experiencing other lands.
