President Obama gave himself a good grade reflecting on his first global economic summit in his weekly address filmed aboard Air Force One.
It's impossible to tell at this point the effectiveness of Obama's performance. Only the results we see down the road - greater international cooperation between nations in fighting terrorism, fixing the global economy and protecting the environment - will determine if this was a first step fixing America's broken image abroad or just a European holiday and photo op with the queen.
Most of the news reports I saw on the summit were light on the substance of what was accomplished in London last week. Perhaps that's because few tangible agreements outside of the commitment to spend a trillion dollars to help smaller countries were achieved.
I got real tired of the news organizations passing off glowing reviews of Michelle Obama wowing a class of schoolgirls as real news in these serious times.
But I guess its okay for now. The president made the solid case that the world's richest countries have to look beyond their own narrow interests if they are to pull out of this economic nosedive.
President Obama planted seeds of international cooperation in London. Let's give some time to see if anything grows from the effort.

I don't think so. He hasn't attended church since he took office. Comparing them to John and Jackie is getting quite old. Dickie Chick America doesn't gain him any friends.

you got tired... please.don't you think we need a break from all the heavy news? why so serious all the time? Some people just need a moment to smile. & i did when i saw the piece w/ michelle and the children. It took my mind off the economy for a sec. and i needed that.

Martin luther King said he had been to the Mountain top.And saw the future of America.It is no secret that white people could get any thing in this world,just because of the color of their SKIN.And because they had a white PRESIDENT,to help them.Black people all over the world knew this.The BANKS would lone money,but not to blacks.All banks say this not to be true,but look at there files,more whites than black,have bank loans.bussinesses are today owned by whites.America now have a BLACK PRESIDENT,and I know most blacks ask them selves,when will our black president do for us,just as the white president did for white people.most Black people are held back from greatness.Nigger this and niger that, saying blacks are dumb.Black are not stupid and having a black president proves this.WHEN WILL THE PRESIDENT HELP BLACKS.JUST AS THE WHITE PRESIDEN DID FOR THE WHITE PEOPLE.blacks were called nigger,because they were said to be stupid.So tell me ,who is the NIGGER now.Scense blacks now run america.Maybe whites still run america,and we just have a uncle Tom in the white house.Maybe whites are useing Oboma just in case there plan fail,they can say the blacks did this to our country.when whites did this to America long before oboma became PRESIDENT.

Mr. Shepard,
You are entitled to your own opinion about First Lady Obama's visit to the school. In my opinion there was nothing wrong with what First Lady Obama did by appearing for those girls at that school. I thought it was important and I'm sure this meant a lot to those girls more than you will ever know. Like danielle that made comment, "Some people should take a moment and smile. I agree with her. I thought that was so kind of her to reach out. I am proud and not tired of hearing it. It's news to me. I'm sure First Lady Obama doesn't forget about the economy and neither does President Obama. We the people of America are their top priority! President Obama gets a "A" from me!!!!!

I think President Obama is doing an extremely well job on the domestic front as well as foreign policy.
We are truly blessed to have him as our President!

Haven't read the papers have you , koolaid drinker. 13 million unemployed. Over 8% unemployment. Astimulus package that failed. Tax cheats in administration. 3.5 trillion spending bill. Highest in history.Thowing America under the bus overseas. Bowing down to a foriegn leader! So where is this good job he's doing?
