Whether you celebrate Easter or Passover this weekend, a lot more unites the faiths separates them.
That was President Obama's simple yet important message delivered in his weekly address. ...
Calling for continued cooperation among nations or the world, a theme the president struck off his G20 Summit talks last week, Obama opened up his messaging to include two major religions celebrating their most holy of feast days.
The quest for shared goals such as security, safety and sound economics across borders and across religious lines ought to trump our differences, Obama said.
Is the message a bit Pollyanna? Perhaps. But on the weekend that hundreds of millions of religious observers stop and recall the true meaning of their faith, what other message could be as timely?

Wow. What a great and informative speech. I really like that Obama wants to keep us abreast of what is going on, and what he is doing, unlike the previous president.

Gas prices are going up and my pay is standing still. Health care is going up and my pay is standing still. food is going up, but my pay is standing still... I need help, not just words, but for you to tell the gas companies that you will nationalize the companies if they don't stop stealing from Americans. Do something about health care and so on. U R the man! use it. If I can help, let me know. Ed JOhnson in Chicago.

After 8 years of cowboy politics, Pollyanna optimism is fine with me.

I think President Obama's comments were wonderful and important. Change is a difficult process, especially societal change. People and nations accept major changes in science, medicine and means of travel, but social ideological is much more difficult as individuals and the collective must give up something to incorporate the new ideals. As humans we are not good at taking lessons from nature, and observe that the only force seen in a stagnant anything is death. Most physical life thrive on a fresh supply of Oxygen as the "life-line." Human thought is the fresh supply of "Oxygen" for societial changes in a dynamic and changing world. The world has changed. 40 years ago China was not a world power. It is not possible to be "the way we were," we cannot be dinosuars in the 21st Century and expect to survive as a leader of nations. Obama has intelligence and sensitivity to assist this country in its change process and to interact with other nations in a collective effort for humankind's and this civilization's survive as we struggle to deal with global warming, deadly infectious diseases, etc.

Pollyanna is fine with me. We are way overdue for a more humane president! You're doing great Mr. President.
