Finally: a president we can crush on!
Our toned commander-in-chief graces the May 2009 cover of Washingtonian Magazine wearing nothing but swimming trunks and shades. The image was taken from a paparazzi shot of him vacationing in Hawaii last Christmas.
It's Barack Obama at his most natural -- well, almost. One detail has been retouched, and it's not the four-pack (sorry, Mr. President, I can't quite give you six).
According to AOL News, the image was apparently altered to make Obama's swimming trunks red. In the original photo, Obama's trunks are black.

President Obama is in good shape and this is a FIRST to have a president on any MAG Cover without a shirt. I like President Obama covered, or at least have a tank shirt on are something on? If he felt comfortable in doing this than that's his choice because he is our President. I felt uncomfortable looking at him in that way. That is my opinion. I love seeing the Obama family on any covers. It makes me PROUD!!!!!

I totally agree. I would prefer not to see the president uncovered.

He's the President, yes, but he's also a man, human, and i think some of us forget that. I dont see a problem it's just a regular picture, and if there should be any criticism...let it lie with whomever took the picture, they knew what they were doing, it's called exploitation. This picture doesnt bother me. Now if he were caught with no pants on, or some other real compromising position, then i might feel a bit uncomfortable. Leave him alone, i really think there are other more pressing matters to be concerned about!

Ok why is this magazine taking an old pic from last year when the Obama's were in Hawaii visiting? I don't think its in good taste to show our president in this particular type of picture. That to me alone was a personal picture during a personal time with his family. Why can't they leave his picture in the professional reign that he is in.

I am pleased to know tht President Obama is physically fit and pray that he will remain that way. Perhaps other men will find this as encouragement to get back in shape and have better mental attitudes.
But, if this is a picture that President and First Lady Obama objects to, then I say, remove the picture or modify it. If you can change the color of his shorts, you can add a body shirt!
Thanks!
p.s. Were there pictures such as this of the late President John F. Kennedy also? You have to admit, we have not had many former Presidents that were in such good shape.

Since he's Black, white journalists will give him less respect than they have for white presidents.
A couple of months ago, a local white talk radio program was discussing a "picture of Obama at a basketball game drinking a beer."
The CONservative callers jumped all over Obama, saying things like "He's supposed to be ready at any time of the day for an attack and has to have a clear mind to make decisions."
That's just one of many things that they blow out of proportion and start a "tsunami of gossip" about.
They may have retouched the trunks to make them stand out better against the black background of the magazine's cover.

John L,
I find your comments polarizing to say the least.
I know your pain, I share your pain, but let's not be a pain while we have a Brother in the white house. This is our shot, let's not blow it by venting our frustrations.
