Move over Barack, Michelle Obama's comic book, 'Female Force: Michelle Obama,' will hit the stands April 29 as part of a lady heroine series. Not a comic fan? That's okay. Me either.
The latest installment in the 'Female Force' series offers a visual biography of First Lady Michelle Obama as she secures her place in American history, according to the comic maker.President Obama has had his five minutes of comic book fame, appearing alongside Spiderman and once again in the forthcoming 'Obama the Barbarian Battles Sarah Palin.' You read that right.
If Amazon pre-orders are any indicator, people want to get their hands on Michelle's comic. The unreleased graphic bio is in the top 300.
The cover doesn't look like her, but at least this is something positive about her. What's with the Joker smile and the devilish eyebrows?
Michelle will have some help from other Female Forces set for publication: Hillary Clinton, Sarah Palin and more (if you think Michelle's comic drawing is distorted, what until you see those two in action).
The College Survival Guide
A Fridge
Regardless of whether you have a wonderful sized meal plan, your fridge may come in handy with leftovers or when you feel like stocking it with bottled drinks.
Computer
The convenience of a computer is essential when sending your kids off to college. Forget the hike to the computer lab across campus students need a computer in the comfort of their room. A printer comes in handy as well. Depending on whether your child plans to carry his laptop around campus, you might opt for a desk top since they're lighter on the pockets.
Snacks
You will surely survive with off of a meal plan but it doesn't hurt to stock up on snacks when you don't feel like leaving your dorm room. Bottled water, pop corn, cereal and Ramen noodles are all low budget snacks to stock up on. Just be weary of the freshman 15.
Things from home
Some college students suffer from homesickness the first year. It's best to surround yourself with things like photos of the family, pillows or even stuffed animals. Anything that reminds your child of home.
MP3 Player
With all the stress that comes from school and exams, sometimes it's nice to block out the chaos in your life and even your roommate with music. It's nearly impossible to find students walking to class who aren't jamming to tunes.
Budget
Students who enter college often come in at the ripening age of 18. A great time for credit cards. Parents beware, your child may end up ruining their credit at a young age
Alarm Clock
When you're in college you don't have the luxury of getting awaken by your parents. It's now your responsibility to get to class on time so alarm clocks are a must. But keep your roommate in mind. You shouldn't wake him up ever morning with a blow horn alarm.
Cleaning supplies
Now you don't necessarily need to bring in the rubber gloves, mop and gas mask but it doesn't hurt to bring along Clorox all purpose wipes for spills or dust. Vacuums and brooms come in handy too depending if you have a carpeted dorm.
Bedding
What most parents aren't aware of is that most college beds are twin sized but extra long and require special sheets. When shopping keep your eye open for sheets that clearly state 'extra long' or else your child may come up short.
Shower shoes
You really don't know what some people do in the shower these days. College showers are known to be creeping with germs so spare yourself the fungus and purchase flip flops for the shower. You'll thank us later!

Like most working mom's it's easy to make the connection to super hero for Michelle Obama.
The way she carried herself throughout the election campaign made me proud, not only as a black woman, but as an American.
You can buy the wardrobe, and the ivy league education, you can even fake the intelligence and sophistiction; but GRACE under that amount of pressure you can't fake.
I feel even better about my vote knowing that Obama has her in his corner,so to speak. Who a person is married to says a lot about them.

If all you got to worry about is a birth certificate you are poorly educated and perhaps you should go back to high school and learn that the supreme court but the birth certificate issue to rest a long time ago. Get another issue to MOAN AND WHINE ABOUT,http://www.louisvuitton2.com
and change the beer you guzzle to something in a lite beer.

You are right- the cartoon doesn't capture her.
She hates America- show it.
Arched eyebrows?
Not enough.
Sharpen her teeth.
Where dis she get HER money to get an Ivy League education?
And Barack- same question.
Where is the birth certificate and the college records?
Man- we have been taken oven and the idiots just keep lapping up the Kool Aid.

And yet, you showed up to read about her and take time from your miserable existence to comment. The more mud you sling at her wings the higher she will fly. Go back to your hole. We don't need you again until February 2, 2010.

I definitely feel that Michele is a super hero! She is a visible icon for young black women all over the world, especially for my colleagues and I who are attending a struggling HBCU.
Maybe there is hope....just maybe. lol.

This looks disturbingly close to being a "minstrel show" photo. It looks nothing like michelle; it looks more like a white woman in black face. People, we need to be very careful of this thin line we walk depicting the Obamas as cartoon characters. It can show a lack of respect and undermine the importance of the office they hold. These images are not just seen here, but all over the world. Remember, a cartoon is satire which means(to ridicule or hold in contempt).
