Last week the Black Voices crew hit the streets of New York with our cameras and a mission: Find the voice of the people.
Once we found 'em, we asked, "What do you think of President Obama's first 100 days?"
We met with people from all over the U.S. and the world, and here's what they had to say. Flip through our interviews and upload your own video here!

What agencys are available to help excons get established when they are in need of loans to start businesses? I am helping my boyfriend but my funds are at a minimum. I am on disability but I also own my own cleaning service. I do my own cleaning presently. Mr. Terry Nelson has family that is willing to help me in my business but my family is very negative about him. I met Mr. Nelson on the road to Washington. Terry was one of our drivers. John Smith Tours hired him to drive us to the inauguration . He and I have been good friends every since.

I know this is black voices but can you get an honest response from only black americans. Remember the washington d.c.mayor. Caught on tape smoking crack with a call girl and then winning a re-election term.

Your idiotic post doesn't deserve a reply. The thread is about the president's Obama first 100 days. What has a past mayor of Washington D.C. got to with this?

Its just a shame that the first black president has to turn out to have a Socialist agenda. Although a lot of black folk like to point fingers at president Bush; it was under his presidency that black folks made a lot of progress. I could understand black folk getting excited about seeing the first black president in their lifetime, it says alot about this country. But lets be honest here. Do you truly believe it is in the best interest of African Americans to support this mans Socialist agenda? It seems to me that what he is trying to achieve is not only counter productive to the advancements that blacks have made over the last decade, it is an outright slap in the face to many who have pulled themselves up from the horrors of poverty. Funding social programs in the amounts that Obama and the Democrats are commited to only steers us back to the days of welfare dependency. Socialism can not exist without poor needy people that are dependent on government programs. It is the ultimate welfare state. I would think that black folk would realize this, and reject his backwards agenda for the sake of not only their futures, but the future of a country that may hold great promise for anyone who desires to work for it. Remember Dr. Kings speech about seeing ones charachter over skin color. This would be a very good time in history to practice it. If Obama is seen as trying to destroy the American constitution, what will it do for the next African American who asks America for their vote?

While I respect your opinion and you are certainly entitled to it. Please point out to me where blacks as a whole have benefited under Bush's policies. Sure with the Republic agenda a few blacks have benefited, but I don't attribute the sucess of a few blacks to a successful policy. The fact of the matter is that this economy was destroyed under the Bush policy. Unemployment is higher than it has been in years, by the way, take a look at unemployment in the black community, and the decision to fight an unjust war doesn't make me feel any safer in this country.

I hear all this talk about socialism and our new president, however, I would like to know who is really being helped by the president's new programs.
Are Americans that stupit. The country was new founded for "We" the people. It was founded by land and slave owners for land and slave owners. The common people did not have a vote or any say in the management of this country.
What the President, is trying to presently do will most likely help poor White people mush more than the African-American community. I know this and so do you. When you reach a point where in you can see through your racial hate and bigotry you will see that there is nothing wrong with helping Black America, nor is it socialism.

"If Obama is seen as trying to destroy the American constitution, what will it do for the next African American who asks America for their vote?"
Are you crazy or something? Are you not aware that Obama is a Constitutional scholar who taught Constitutional Law at Univ. of Chicago; and presently is abiding by and protected the Constitution and that is what matters. How the hell could Bush have helped Black people in America while he was taking their Constitutional Rights away from them every bit as much as Bush was taking them from Whites. Yet that is your claim. That Bush helped Blacks.
Sorry. But I have to ask, just out of curiosity. Are you an E.AUM; or, are you an Eau M.?
Talking about a first black president has to turn out to have a Socialist agenda reminds me of the people in my childhood, and to this day, who refered to FDR as Pres. Rooseveldt

It never ceases to amaze me how so many people like to quote Dr. King about skin character versus skin color. I would bet that a lot of these same people are the ones who wanted harm to come him when he was alive.
