If I hear one more Chris Brown fan prattle on about how Brown is being "unfairly" victimized in the the aftermath of his victimization of his former girlfriend Rihanna I think my head's going to explode. And his $300,000 "Oops" necklace is a very bad look right now IMHO. It clearly triggers the Gap Band's classic "Oops upside your head." Not funny. And if Chris Brown doesn't get the implication, I'd say he needs new handlers.
Look, my original post got eaten by digital gremlins, but the bottom line is this: if fan adulation washes away all accountability for his assault of his ex, it will do Chris Brown no good.
A talented performer, with a bright future as an artist, Brown should not be demonized or precluded from earning a living. He plead guilty to felony assault and is scheduled to do public service and undergo counseling.
That's all good. However, when conversations about Brown's crimes seem to almost instantly flip into debates about whether "it's okay for a woman to hit a man" and "not expect to get hit back?" For the record, it is not and that is a separate discussion. If, in fact Chris Brown was a victim of domestic violence, then he should have reported his abuser, otherwise it''s all hearsay.

HERE WE GO JUMPING CONCLUSIONS AGAIN, HAS ANYONE EVEN ASKED WHAT IT STANDS FOR, OR WE JUST ASS U MING ONCE AGAIN. I AM SICK AN TIRED OF ALL THE HOOPLA OVER THIS. AND I SAY IF EVERYONE HAD KEPT THERE OWN 2CENTS TO THEMSELVES THEY WOULD HAVE RESOLVED THE SITUATION, WITHOUT IT GETTING BLOWN ALL OUT OF PROPORTIONS. ALL YOU PEOPLE IN YOUR PERFECT RELATIONSHIPS, TRY LIVING IN A GLASS HOUSE YOURSELVES, AND WE WILL SEE THE TRUTH. THESE ARE YOUNG KIDS, AND YES WE MAKE MISTAKES AND WE GROW FROM THEM.. GROW UP EVERYBODY, I LOVE BOTH OF THEM AND THEY BOTH MADE MISTAKES IN THEIR RELATIONSHIP, AND THE FREAKIN WORLD TOOK OVER AND MADE A MESS OF IT. THIS IS AMRERIC AND LAST TIME I LOOKED YOU ARE INNOCENT TIL PROVEN GUILTY, YOU PEOPLE HAD THE KID CONVICTED BEFORE IT EVEN GOT STARTED. THE PRESS, THE RADIO STATIONS, THE CELEBS, IT WAS REALLY SICKENING. JUST LIKE MICHAEL JACKSON, OOOOOO REALLY PISSES ME OFF, BUT ALL THEY CARE ABOUT IS RATINGS, NEWS SALES AND DON'T REALLY GIVE A DAMN ABOUT THE TRUTH OR WHAT REALLY HAPPENED. HE'S A KID HE MADE A MISTAKE AND NOW YOU WANT TO PERSECUTE HIM FOR LIFE. I DON'T THINK EVEN RHIANA WANTS THAT. BUT YOU PEOPLE HAVE HER ALL INTIMIDATED WHERE SHE WON'T REALLY TELL HER TRUE FEELILNGS, YOU OUGHT TO ALL BE ASHAMED OF YOURSELVES... I LOVE THEM BOTH, LOWELL

I couldn't have said it better myself!! As the mother of two boys, I have often told them not to hit a female. Give her three warnings to keep her hands off of you and if she doesn't comply...well you know what to do. You are right, these females today are a lot different. They fight worse than some men. I was one of the women who also told my boys...never put your hands on a woman until I saw too many scenes where women have started fights and then expect others to come to their rescue. Keep your hands to yourself and we wouldn't have this problem

I am a woman. But I am also the mother of a son. And while I don't condone violence against women I certainly see your point Warren.
