This week,
Rev. Al Sharpton and I discussed President Barack Obama's racialized fight with the Right Wing, as well as
President Obama's public feud with New York Governor David Paterson. Paterson, who is also
African American, has a horrifically low approval rating and Obama has justifiable concern about Paterson's ability to win the next election. A loss by Governor Paterson could have a negative impact on other elections within the Democratic Party.

I worked vigorously to get President Barack Obama elected, and I was on ABC Nightly news with Charles Gibson 50 State Tour. After his win many of us thought the worst criticism was over but we were wrong, and the unprecedented attacks has increased upon him, his wife Michelle, their children, friends, and will continue long after these Health Care Issues are over.
We can only imagine the impact this criticism must have on members of our military personnel, their wives, husbands, and dependent children around the nation including commissioned and non-commissioned officers stationed at Moody Air Force Base here in Valdosta Georgia.
Where local citizens watch, read, and listen to local television, newspapers, and radio stations calling their President and Executive Commander-In-Chief a racists, socialists, terrorists, ignorant, hates White people, he hates America among hundreds of other derogatory comments as their fellow soldiers are fighting and dying in Iraq and Afghanistan.
During the presidential election I registered a 92-year-old lady and she said Barack Obama was criticized more than any presidential candidate she had ever seen. So what has President Obama done to equal the centuries of mistreatment Blacks suffered here in America?
Blacks did not condemn the other 43 White Male Presidents even though the United States Library of Congress states that Blacks came to these shores in the year of 1555 aboard a slave ship called Jesus, captained by one Sir. John Hawkins a White European Slave Trader.
Although Blacks were mistreated they refused to attack White presidents in contrast to Black Columnist Star Parker and other patriots bent on destroying President Obama.
So regardless of how we feel about our Executive Commander In-Chief all commissioned and non-commissioned officers now serving in Iraq and Afghanistan must rise above the criticism and carry out the assigned mission.
Yet there are those who believe that unless their particular candidate (Democratic, Republican, or Independent) with the same religious beliefs wins the office of president. Then it becomes their duty and responsibility to destroy that president at all cost. We must stop this trend and stop sending politicians to Washington bent on hatred. God bless America!

I am very happy to have found this article. I had wanted for a long time to talk to some significant figure in Black america about this.
1) The issue of Reparation.
For a White person, and by adoption progressively more and more for everyone in America including Blacks, respect is based on the size of your bank account. African Americans were cheated out of a settlement that would have set the pace and quality of recognition as an equal human being with the rest of the country earlier in their liberation. That false start has pleagued equality in this country not only because they started out poor, but because there never was punitive damages to the crime of slavery, in the same way as there was in the case of Britain. Britain lost every investment in America to the Americans when they were chased out of America. Even for that reason alone, Britain would have respected America. The slave master lost nothing to African Americans when slavery was abolished. They were never even symbolically physically or morally heald accountable for their crimes. Instead, they were emboldened to the point of fighting a war to prevent Black Emancipation. They went as far as continuing to create more and more complex ways of denying Blacks their right to work and equal citizenship in this country. You can see that even in the highest job in the country, when people have screamed racial slures at our president because of his color. Quite a number of people who didn't vote for or do not want Pdt Obama to succeed have racial issues.
Anything that affects the Money bottom line is the basis for all relations in this country, even in our families. Everything else being equal, the more money, the better for generations to come.
We see then that for the sake of our country, we need to vacate that remnant of unresolved issues of emancipation. We need to evaluate how much should have been paid at that time for the pain and suffering, list it as a debt against the nation, states, industries and persons or family lines that were involved in slavery. This debt should be evaluated with interest and inflation rate to know how much should be owed to blacks in this country. It is an excercise in futility to continue to request "equality", a vague word that doesn't confer the same meaning to both the debtor and creditor.
For a White man, a welfare card is more than payment to the Blacks in this country, and employment when they can't find a white enough person to fill the job opening is fair enough compensation and repayment for the debt owed descendants of slaves, whom by the way, are a burden on their taxes. This vision of what this country owes Blacks has to be stated clearly, and from there Black equality would never be in question, and I can guarantee you, there would be screams and crimes committed just for the mention of such a notion of debt owed and quantified.
2)Obama: There is no doubt in my mind that president Obama means well for this country. meaning well and doing well are two different things. Most dictators meant well also.Yet they didn't or haven't done well for their people.
President Obama has done well for the upper class of America. You have to have klunker car, and the means to take additional debt with a new purchase to benefit from cash for k. You had to have money in the bank, be working for a bank, or be the ceo of any such to benefit from the banks baillout. You had to have a home for all the programs to baillout homeowners.
For the lower class, the dead poor most of whom are African American, I doubt that a $300 tax return check or $50 more in their welfare food stamp has really made a difference in their lives. A really significant change in this country should have given the poor the billions and the rich the $50 welfare check, not the other way around.
In the minds of many people who oppose Public Option, they think this option would have them pay for "lazy Blacks who are sitting on their buds all day".
That said, if president Obama failed to be reelected, it would be another century or two before another chance is given to blacks to compete for the presidency or any other higher job in this country. Moreove, if he failed, to be reelected, most democrats would lose their jobs at capitol hill. They don't just know it yet.
3)Peterson: Blacks still have to learn how to support their own structures and superstructures or build one. Take a look at the latinos here. Latinos forced companies to hire latinos who spoke enough, just enough english to understand what they were saying and to translate it for the newer latinos who couldn't or pretended not to understand English, as part of their building acceptance and an society in America. Black Americans readily accepted the imposition of a standard of English which they must attain in order to be accepted at work. Notice here that the latinos forced not just their acceptance, but made it inadequate for a company to be doing business without their accommodation by hiring equal number of latino to take care of latino business. Blacks who know English wouldn't want to be assigned to black business. They would be distancing themselves instead.
4)Latinos: They skillfully forced America to look at them with respect by requiring their employers and service providers to add an option to all other options, that would speak to them in their language, for their needs. If you look at most government and industries websites, you always find a latino special something. No black special anything: eg. take a look at the HUD.GOV website.
5)Whites: It is not the fault of the Whites that Blacks are unable to articulate clearly what their demands are. Blacks can't keep convoluting in the "equality" word, a catch all yet so obscure word that you can't point your finger on what it means, a word that scares the hell out of anyone who wants to imagine the worst. Why would a White person want to change the dynamics in this country in favor of other groups? Self preservation is largely underestimated in Black community. Whites are not suicidal as far as the issue of racial supremacy is concerned in this country. They like it the way things are: Blacks don't count unless a white wants to count them.
6)Blacks: IF you have a clear number and it should run into billions of trillions for all I care, it would put all the fears to rest, because now everyone knows what it is that Blacks want. Would they pay? May be, may be not. Just like every other debt, we would add that figure to the national debt every year and keep asking. In business, the deptor doesn't have to pay you if you don't ask. The creditor has to ask the debt, even if the other has no means of paying. No claim, no pay.
If Blacks would actually institute a Pay our debt day, then that request would have to be addressed one day and settled. Or some other way of settling would be devised without "settling". Blacks have nothing to lose.
