Garrard McClendon, a Chicago-area television personality and CLTV host, is grieving as police search for his parents' killers.
Police located the car belonging to Milton and Ruby McClendon, who were found murdered in a Calumet City forest preserve Monday.
The McClendons' car, a green Cadillac Eldorado with Indiana license plates, was found abandoned in the northbound lanes of the Dan Ryan Expressway, according to Illinois State Police.
Police have also spent time gathering evidence at the McClendons' Hammond home.
Garrard was reportedly devastated by the murder, according to relatives and friends who spoke with reporters.
Milton, 78, and Ruby, 76, had recently celebrated their 54th wedding anniversary and were longtime fixtures in the Hammond neighborhood.

Garrard,
You have my deepest sympathy for the transition of your parents. In time, you will remember the joyful times you'll have spent together. My father's last name was McClendon from Mississippi. We maybe distant relatives. I will remember you and your family in my prayers.

This is so tragic. Hopefully, they catch the killers and execute them immediately rather than wasting tax dollars with appeals on such waste of human being who would kill an elderly couple.

I wanted to send out my deepest regards to the family of the deceased. They looked like such a beautiful and loving couple. Who could do this? Just awful. I hope who ever did this gets the death penalty.

What is this about? Elderly being found murdered in a forest. This has to be some type of retaliation for the famous son.

Garrard,
I am so sorry.
This should never have happened to YOU or to THEM.
It is my fervent hope that eventually you & yours can regard these 76, 78 years of humanity in its fullness-- and its tragic little end be nothing more than its tragic little end.

They caught the murderers yesterday 10/27; they were two Black teenage boys. But I wonder where they were staying between the murder and yesterday. If in their own home, It must have been something else. I think a "mother's instinct" should always know when something is wrong, especially something like that. I hope. I just hope.
