If you thought the case of the 8-year-old Liberian girl who was allegedly gang raped in Arizona by four boys couldn't get any worse, it has. According to KTVK-TV in Phoenix, her parents were arrested on Friday, Nov. 20, for child abuse:
On Friday, police served arrest warrants for Hemie Dio, 59, and Wedeh Dio, 47, for numerous counts of child abuse. Officers waited for them to come home from work and then arrested them as they got out of their car.
Hemie Dio yelled at a 3TV reporter who was there while he was being arrested; Wedeh Dio said nothing.
Both parents are charged with seven counts of child abuse. Police say they used sticks, wires, even their fists to hit their daughter. Witnesses say they often left their daughter wandering the apartment complex alone at night, begging for food. SOURCE: KTVK-TV
Each parent is being held on $30,000 bond, with the father's arraignment set for Nov. 30. The mother's court date had not been set as of this weekend.
As I posted back in July, the child was allegedly gang-raped by four boys -- one of them her cousin -- and then rejected by her parents for shaming them. The story made international headlines, with the Liberian government weighing in to say the victim should be embraced, not shunned.
I hope she is faring better in the custody of Child Protective Services, where she has been placed for her own safety.

Lynn: Jimmie you have ruffled some feathers. But, your opinion is valid. We, black folks, don't like
to hear anything bad about ourselves.
JL: Pretty ridiculous...especially when considering that I already noted that "the same problems exist in America," too.
Two, Jimmie didn't write anything about Blacks....but about Africans.
Jimmie's comments remind me of the ranting and raving done on talk radio shows about the handful of acts committed by Middle Eastern terrorists who are members of radical Islamic groups...while the over 30,000 hate crimes committed each year by White supremacist groups in America are TOTALLY IGNORED by talk radio shows....and other media.
That's over 100 hate crimes per day committed by Americans of various Christian faiths...NOT Muslims.
Hence, these American terrorists are committing more acts of hate in one day...than the total number of acts committed by Middle Eastern terrorists in America before and after Sept. 11, 2001.
I have read several posts by Jimmie, and all of them were racist.
Hence, I highly doubt he/she is simply seeking to educate people about the raping of children in Africa.....as in a public service announcement.

Jimmie is right as so the comment about Utah rapes of under age girls. Some men in Africa think that having young virgins will get rid of AIDS. Some grown men in America thing that having under age girls will make them more of a man.

The raw truth upsets some of you ignorant people....I know a girl Karen Brown of Yeadon, she was sold by her father to older men for sex, She left her country and came to the USA, now she is a stripper, prostitute and has clients who are mostly white, for fear of black drama. She is never with out a wig. Black girls were bred for sex in her country. And over here she sells herself and her extra bedroom in her house to young people who need a place for sex (drinks included) Gang raping is more of a game then a crime in their country. This explains wig head easy foreign black women like Karen Brown of Yeadon

Rape is common everywhere not just in Africa. Young Shaniya is an example and so is the boys who gang rape a young girl at homecoming. Liberia has one of the harshest rape laws (death for anyone who rapes a child younger than 15 years). That is more than the US. So stop pointing fingers and try to condemn an act. I have never seen as many rapes as in the US so this is not just endemic to Africa. American men seem fascinated by young girls.
