It seems that a new segment of the population with entirely too much time on their hands has taken to making sure jokes on television shows, such as Saturday Night Live, are fact-checked.
So if a comedian makes a joke at the expense of President Barack Obama, the writer is supposed to make sure the the punchline doesn't stray too far from reality.
CNN recently fact-checked an SNL skit on President Obama. Are they serious?
I suppose we should check whether the chicken really did cross the road and get a positive identification on who was at the door for all "knock-knock" jokes.
While the idea of fact-checking jokes is ludicrous, I can understand why some folks are upset. As shown in the huge television ratings of comedy shows, such as SNL and the Jon Stewart Show, during the presidential election, these shows are increasingly influential in shaping public opinion.
But these whiners have to get a grip and understand that a joke is a joke and sometimes President Obama and the Democrats will be targeted, and other times, it will be Sarah Palin and the Republicans playing the butt of the joke.
As long as its funny, it doesn't matter who is being clowned.

WHAT IS THE REAL ISSUE HERE? The real issue here is how SNL literally destroyed Sarah Palin's political career!!! This orchestrated destruction was innocently framed as "having fun" or just comedy. However, its well-intended damaging impact changed our history forever. The Obama Administration is well aware of how the media can be used as a weapon or a tool. Mr. Obama is trying to intimidate the media to get his approval ratings up. Mr. Obama is afraid of that old saying of "what goes around comes around!" Our Nation is in a depression and all we can talk about is how to correctly use comedy in politics. This was never important when Mr. Bush ran our Nation. I see a double standard here. GOD HELP US!!!!!!!

Wow - this nothing article gets all the responses? You folks better get a focus and let Hollywood be Hollywood (yeah I'm talking industry, SNL is in NYC). Notice how Pres. Obama's administration isn't talking about these little trifling issues. It's because they don't matter. BTW, Pres Obama is 1/2 white so that SNL actor is as eligible as any black man to play the president. I love yall but you can definitely try a person's nerves. Don't worry, I'll never give up on you.

You're joking, right? I mean making cracks about Jesus will get you ostracized in some circles while cracking wise about Muhammed (the prophet not the cabdriver ... although ...) could get you killed last I checked most people aren't confusing Obam ... oh, wait ... nevermind.
