Today while hanging out with Rev. Al Sharpton in the studio for a show, I found my mind reflecting deeply on the recent drama between Tiger Woods and his wife, Elin Nordegren. In spite of the fact that I was sitting next to the man who epitomizes race relations in America, no one brought up the fact that Tiger Woods is involved in an interracial marriage. It wasn't because we were afraid to go there, it was just that there were more pressing issues to discuss.
One caller, though, called in to the show and slammed the issue on the table like a five-pound slab of raw chicken, using the old O.J. Simpson argument, "Had he been with a sister, none of this would have happened."
While I don't agree with the caller's assertion (we know that marital drama knows no racial boundaries), I found it interesting that some of the black women in the studio smirked and looked at the floor, as if to say, "I hear ya, girl." These smirks were not built on agreeing with what the woman said, but rather, on the disappointment and resentment that many black women have felt about the fact that Tiger Woods almost never seemed to show any interest in African-American females. Unlike guys like myself, who admire Tiger for his achievements, I know a long list of black women who could care less if Tiger were to take his golf clubs and jump off the side of a 10-story building.
The woman's comment about race, led me down a trail of thought about Tiger Woods, race and how this incident is going to change the way we see him forever. One clear point that can be made relates to the O.J. Simpson case. Before he was acquitted for the murder of Nicole Brown Simpson in 1995, Simpson was America's favorite black man: He didn't have anything to do with the black community, and white America loved him as much as they loved themselves. He simply turned in his "brother card"-never to be seen in a soul food restaurant again. Fate changed all that, though, as O.J. ended up relying on support from the black community to get him through his toughest hour. White America abandoned him for committing a mortal sin: Hurting a beautiful woman with blond hair and blue eyes. Had Nicole Brown Simpson been black, it is arguable that O.J. would never have been dealt with so harshly for the next 15 years.
Tiger may be in a similar situation with his wife Elin. I seriously wonder if Elin struck Tiger with that golf club, given that Tiger was going in and out of consciousness and drove straight in to a tree. It's odd to me that one of the most focused human beings on the planet was unable to dodge large objects in the path of his automobile. But regardless of the strange facts coming out, given that Tiger is the one being accused of committing adultery, one can only wonder if our society will decide that Tiger is the bad guy in this incident. Should this incident turn out to be a case of domestic violence, it should be made clear that if Tiger didn't hit his wife, he is not the one who should be charged and vilified. There is no excuse for committing violence in a relationship, period.
We have to remember that the world changes quickly, right before our eyes: No one ever thought that O.J. Simpson would be public enemy No. 1, and it was once a pipe dream for Barack Obama to become President of the United States. So, the idea that Tiger Woods could become ostracized by the American public for the dirt now being released about his private life is not out of the question. I am not sure in which direction this saga is going to go, but I can guarantee you this: It's going to get deeper before it's done, since the world has been waiting to see the real Tiger Woods.

Tiger Woods said that he wasn't black first off. Now whom he date or marry is his business, like all of the rest of the pro ball players. I'm black and if they love it so do I, I'm not threaten by any woman white, green ,blue or purple woman. I don't understand why people think black woman have a problem with it. The last I remembered in biology was all woman had the same and all men had the same. So what is the problem? Skin color or does that tell how the equipment works.

MY COMMENTS ON THE MATTER OF TIGERS WOOD ARE AS FOLLOWS: LOOKING OVER THE YEARS THE SAME PATTERNS CONTINUALLY OCCURS (SOME MAY AGREE) KISS AND TELL SYMDROME. ARE WHITE WOMEN RAISED BY THEIR PARENTS TO GO AFTER HIGH POWERED PEOPLE, SLEEP WITH MARRIED MEN AND THEN YOU CAN GET AHEAD BY TELLING THE MEDIA. LOOK AT THE PATTERN: THE YOUNG LADY WHO SLEPT WITH THE BASKETBALL STAR (KOBE BRYANT), MONICA LEWINSKY WITH BILL CLINTON, THE WOMAN THEY ARE TELLING HAD AN AFFAIR WITH TIGER WOODS WAS NOT THE ONE ANOTHER WHITE WOMAN TOLD THE TABLOID SHE HAD A 31 MONTH AFFAIR WITH TIGER WOOD. TO MY BLACK BROTHERS IN HIGH POWERED PROFESSIONS STAY AWAY FROM THE WHITE DEVIL WOMEN THEY WILL BURN THE HELL OUT OF YOU. YOU CAN'T WATCH TELEVSION AND THEY ARE ALWAYS READY TO TAKE OFF THEIR CLOTHES TO ANYONE KISSING AND HUMPING OTHER WOMEN JUST NASTY. WHY GO AFTER HIGH POWERED OFFICIALS AND TELL THE WORLD SOME OF YOU ARE JUST THAT NASTY. ISHHHH. TIGER YOU WAS PULLED INTO THE WEB OF THAT NASTY WOMEN WHO WAS READY TO JUMP OUT IN THE WORLD TO TELL EVERYONE SHE'S BEEN SLEEPING AROUND WITH A MARRIED MAN JUST TO GET AHEAD. GO TO COLLEGE AND GET A COLLEGE DEGREE AND GET A GOOD JOB AND STOP USING WHAT YOU GOT TO DESTROY SOMEONE ELSE LIFE.
THANK YOU AND HAVE A GOOD DAY. DONT GET ME WRONG I LIKE SOME WHITE WOMEN, PEOPLE IN GENERAL IT'S THOSE NASTY ONES I DON'T

I am a Black Female; I would like to comment on the fact that being a Black Female is something I am Very Proud of. The fact that the black men, I will not say brothers because some of them I do not consider them as brothers and neither do they. The color of your skin does not make you a brother or sister; it is how you identify your character in this world. The black men or women that choose to date/marry outside of their race, does have identity issues, because in some form or fashion you have to change some of your life styles and every day thoughts, hoping people accept you, and don't say you don't care what people think, because we are all humans and we have feelings. The point is when you know you’re History and all the things the Black Woman had to endure just to stay alive and provide for her children when they weren't accepted by the Black or White race and she did not have a choice in the matter. When Master (the white man) said tonight I will lay with you and your husband knew Master was with his wife and there was nothing he could do about it and when the Baby was born he knew it was not his but he had to accept it to stay alive and the Black Woman had to love the child and try to keep peace with her husband even though she did nothing wrong. I know a lot of people are going to say that was back then, Slavery is over, guest what it is not over; it is in a new Form. Why would anyone want to live each day without wanting to know there History and all about their Ancestors. Let's stop saying get over it and move on. Let's bind together and learn our History and become a Powerful group of people. UNITED TOGETHER, DEVIDED WE FALL. Every Race of people has except AFRICAN AMERICANS.
This is the reason we are still fighting for Jobs, higher positions in the Corporate World. If you think race does not matter and you are just as equal to the white race, try working in the Corporate World. Do the research in the fortune 100 companies and see how many Blacks are operating their companies, (excluding Oprah), or check Wall Street, or Hollywood.
Sorry for the long comment, it just hurts when I talk to my Elders and they tell Stories about their lives and we take all of that for granted by letting other people tell us that was in the past get over it.
NO I not Racist………………

Is Tiger black now? Tiger is as he said "Cablasian", but apparently what comes out of the man shows the true content of his character, not culture or what he considers himself to be..........................PS, some how I am just not even interested in his drama, like reports of him cheating (if it is in him, what makes the wife thinks its about her because of....)

The first thing I notice about these black men who marry white women is how unhappy they are. It is clear to see Tiger is ashamed of his father's race but the apple doesn't fall far from the tree his father did the same thing. I don't see how black women should ever feel threatened by white women. Black women are powerful, sexier and of a much stronger nature than their white counterparts. White women look up to black women today for leadership. Black men who date and marry white women were always insecure of who they are and was never comfortable in their skin and the only way to get over it is to marry a white woman and create some lighter offspring. Men like Tiger are very unhappy with their lifestyle thus the reason for hiding it behind bars, nightclubs and late nights trying to find what little happiness they can outside their home and they end up cheating on their spouses. They suffer that inner pain that only extra marital relationships can fulfill. Now brothers that marry black sisters always look happy, joyous and healthy and while they may have extra marital, they make sure their home life is secured. So let's pray for these brothers who are trapped in a skin they are forced to live in.

You got alot of brothers out here who can't get a black woman. Black woman will simply reject them. You dark skin sisters, you know darn well you go for the lighter skinned bros. You leave your dark skin bros out of the loop cause you hate your dark skin. We want a woman that will do what we ask without alot of lip. You don't want to act right, believe me, a white woman or another race will love a dark skin black man. You sisters don't want to love me? Your loss. And yeah, love shouldn't be that hard to get.

I've never heard any black women say they were attracted to Tiger before he married this woman so why would he be expected to date them? Most of the black women I know, thought he was a corny looking dude though they applauded his accomplishments and wanted to claim him as black.
