Donna Campbell, 49, was given an early Christmas present from her husband: an eviction notice. The former skin-care model and beauty pageant queen, who sued her husband, Arnim Ramdass, 53, in order to claim half of his Florida lotto winnings, is packing up her belongings. "It almost feels as if that winning ticket has destroyed my life," Campbell said.
Ramdass was part of a lottery pool back in 2007, with 16 of his Miami International Airport co-workers. The winning pit was $19 million, but after Uncle Sam got his share, the group wound up with $10.2 million, about $600,000 per person.
Upon winning the money, Ramdass decided to hide his good fortune from his wife by discontinuing his phone, Internet and cable services. Campbell grew suspicious of her husband's underhanded moves and Googled him from an outside computer.
When the 1979 runner-up of Miss Trinidad and Tobago confronted her husband with what she discovered, he refused to share the wealth, so she sued him. In December 2008, a Miami-Dade Circuit Court judge determined that Campbell could not claim any rights to the winnings, and the case was dismissed.
In February of this year, the couple's three-bedroom home went into foreclosure and was sold. Ramdass never put Campbell's name on the title. The new owners have allowed Campbell to remain in the home for a while but have now asked her to move.
Campbell has been trying to find her wayward husband in order to serve him with divorce papers, but she has been unsuccessful. Campbell, who says she is plagued by a series of autoimmune problems, is unable to work. There is a silver lining to this story, though. After hearing about Campbell's plight, Allied Van Lines offered to move and store what belongings she has left for free.
There is a Santa.

While the article didnt explicitly state it, I get the impression they were separated when he won the lottery. If it was a legal separation that can be substantiated in court, she isnt entitled to any of his earnings; unless he gave her something out the kindness of his heart..and apparently he doesnt like or love her anymore. As someone else stated, she should've just filed for divorce upon learning about his winnings; she may have at least gotten spousal support. The money is probably spent by now.

In community property states she would be entitled to 50% of the winnings under the law. Not sure about where they live but here in California we wouldn't even be having this discussion.
Her husband is just a dirty dog. Something bad is going to happen to him for treating her like he did, and all the money he has is going to be spent for medical care.

In the first place, this couple probably married for reasons other than love. Second, this woman is weak. If she would have sued him for divorce instead of just part of the money, she probable would have been better off. But, apparently she needed a husband to take care of her. There were probably problems in this marriage before the lottery winnings, and the husband found him an escape, he's probably out of the country. I can't blame him.
