President's Approval Numbers Up

According to an Associated Press-Gfk poll, President Barack Obama's popularity poll numbers are "holding steady," with 56 percent of Americans approving of the way he does business. [AP]

'Precious' received three nominations from the Screen Actors Guild today. Both Gabourey Sidibe and Mo'Nique are in the running for best lead actress and supporting actress, respectively. 'Inglourious Basterds' and 'Up in the Air' also received nominations. [SagAwards.org]

Judge Presumes Gangs More Dangerous Than Terrorists
Speaking in reference to Attorney General Eric Holder's decision to hold the trials of Guantanamo Bay prisoners on U.S. soil, Judge Royce Lamberth said U.S. gangs "are more murderous...than some of these people at Guantanamo Bay." In 2004, Lamberth presided over the Murder Inc. case. The gang was responsible for 31 deaths. [ABC News]
