Michael Jackson Estate: Attorneys Are Suing For Not Being Paid

Comments (5)

According to legal documents and media reports, the attorneys who've worked on the estate for the late Michael Jackson have not been getting paid. The attorneys filed suit this week, alleging that they should have been compensated for their long hours of work on the case. They are asking for 5 percent of the estate proceeds, and the judge will decide this week how much they should receive.

John Branca and John McClain are the lead administrators who have filed paperwork on behalf of themselves. The estate has earned more than $100 million dollars since Jackson's death. The estate's earnings will not include those from the tribute in Vienna that had originally been planned by Michael's brother, Jermaine Jackson. The event was going to include Mary J. Blige, Chris Brown and Natalie Cole, but was canceled due to poor organization.
