According to the police account of his confession, Dennis Allaben killed his wife, Maureen Allaben, Sunday night in Atlanta. Allaben wrapped his wife's body and then placed it in the back of his blue pick-up truck and drove to Virgina, where he told relatives that he had killed his wife. He left the couple's two children with relatives and fled from Virgina, heading back to Atlanta.
Tuesday morning, Allaben walked in to the Clayton County Police Headquarters and turned himself in. "He just showed up at [Clayton County] police headquarters and said he'd killed his wife," O'Brien said. Police then recovered Maureen Allaben's body. Police reports did not specify if the Allabens' children were aware of their mother's body in the back of the truck. "It's shocking," said Jennifer Boyanton, whose children went to school with the Allaben's young boy and girl. "They were a wonderful family. ... She could light up a room."
The Monique show issued a statement after the incident broke into the news:
"We are all saddened by Maureen's passing but we also rejoice in having had the opportunity to know her sweet, soulful spirit. Live each day to the fullest."
We wish Maureen and her family the best as they overcome this horrible tragedy.

Wow. As sad as this is this type of thing happens everyday. Unfortunately we can not control ish like this it is a matter of self-control. I really don't think the mysterious light should shine on "The Monique Show"... but 'they' do say all press is good press.... Whateva! my heart goes out to the families who must drag their feeet through this unnecessary mess. They are the only ones who suffer.

We live in a really sick world, where you have a husband that will kill his wife, and then put his wife's body in the back of a pickup truck, and drive around for two days. I just wonder what happened to this guy, that drove him to wanting to kill his wife. I really feel sorry for the two children, because they lost both of their parents.

I suspect Maureen Allaben lived a life of secret HELL with her husband. In the beginning, women who remain with abusive men always try to conceal it. Its sad Maureen did not liberate herself and kids from this man before it was too late. I pray for her eternal peace and I pray for her children's well being.

I, too, would like to know the reasoning behind why he did it.

Its seems like the national pastime is killing the wife. What happened to the good old days, when you
couldn't get along and the dad went to get cigarettes or bread and was never seen again? Fellows you don't have to kill, can't get along move on!

The last line of this article disturbs me a little bit "We wish Maureen and her family the best as they overcome this horrible tragedy." Maureen has passed away, no more wishing her the best is going to bring her back...She's in the good hands of our Lord God.

As all have said this is so very sad. I wish if she knew he was abusive or off in his mental facalties that she would have sought help for the children's sake. May God bless the children and the families of all is my prayer.
