Obama Talks Jobs with Ohio Residents
President Barack Obama is in Ohio today discussing an unemployment solution: clean-energy technologies. In Ohio, unemployment is said to be at 10.6 percent. After Scott Brown's win in Massachusetts this week, President Obama has been forced to turn part of his attention from health care reform to job creation, as impending fall elections prove to be a precarious time for incumbent Democrats. Howard Dean Still Believes Health Care Reform Can Be Passed

In Howard Dean's appearance on CBS's "The Early Show," the former Vermont Governor expressed that he still believed Democrats would be able to pass a bill that overhauls health care, albeit a scaled back and less costly one. As for bipartisan negotiations with Republicans, Dean also expressed that Republicans will most likely continue to avoid working with the president, because they think "they can benefit" from their opposition. African Governments Offer Money to Haiti

Several African governments have pledged money to Haiti: South Africa pledged $135,000, Chad pledged $500,000, the Congo pledged $2.5 million and Senegal pledged $1 million in addition to offering land to Haitians that are willing to relocate. Former President of South Africa Nelson Mandela has been asking other African countries to join in relief efforts. [Washington Post]
