Tents Are Needed in Haiti
Now that rescue efforts are over in Haiti, the focus has shifted to providing medical supplies and shelter. The lucky earthquake victims are people who've been able to procure tents. Others have used sheets propped up by sticks. Because so many buildings have been destroyed and the ones left standing are not sound, tents have become a major necessity. Haiti's President Rene Preval requested 200,000 yesterday. In order to show solidarity with his people, Preval has been sleeping in a tent on his palace grounds. [New York Times]

Jobs Tax Credit Reintroduced
President Barack Obama reintroduced the idea of jobs tax credit that would provide businesses with a credit for hiring employees as a means of stimulating the job market.
