Prosecutors investigating Michael Jackson's death will charge his personal physician, Dr. Conrad Murray, with involuntary manslaughter in the death of the superstar singer.
Meanwhile, a spokesman for the Jackson family said he fears the anticipated manslaughter charge against the Houston doctor is far too lenient.
"That is just a slap on the wrist and a slap in the face, because Michael Jackson was someone who knew he was in danger of being brought to his knees, brought to his death by the use of these medications," said lawyer Brian Oxman who represents the Jackson family on the CBS "Early Show."
Involuntary manslaughter - the charge prosecutors reportedly plan to seek against Murray - carries a maximum jail sentence of four years.
Jackson had hired Murray as his personal doctor before a planned series of comeback concerts in Europe. The singer died June 25 at his rented Los Angeles home. A coroner's report showed Murray had given Jackson powerful drugs, including propofol and two other sedatives to help Jackson get over his chronic insomnia.
Propofol is supposed to be administered by a professional anesthesiologist in a medical setting because the drug slows breathing, heart rate and lowers blood pressure - all at the same time.
Murray has said that no drug he gave to Jackson should have killed him.

I think that this is all just very sad. Dr. Murrary was just a yes man he wanted the money. Micheal was a lost spirit he never felt like he belonged even with all he had he was not happy. I believe that he is at rest now and is the happiest that he has ever been. I use to have a patient that was a drug addict and they can get you all caught up in their sickness. This doctor got caught up and should have just walked away from Micheal he should have walked away.

Ok, I read some of the comments around.. Ok, MJ took drugs, he was addicted to those ... Still, here is a-so-called-doctor. And a patient. First, this s&&t says he was not there when MJ went into cardiac arrest, then he says he was there at that time, and NOW, voila , surprise ! The man gave himself (MJ) propofol ! HAHAHA SUCH a BIG LIE. You dont have to be too wise to understand that he IS guilty. Guilty of a human being. Above all, MJ was a human being and because of a doctor he is dead. This is more than mistreating a patient. Is more than what they charged him with. THat s%%t Murray was hired to take care of MJ, not to overdose him. You see, he's trying so hard to find new excuses and he tries so hard to run ! And that because he feels guilty, he KNOWS he is ! And you know what, Murray piece of.. liers need good memories.. Eventually you will go down because every lie has short legs ! I hope to see this soon !
