Jamal Rashead Trulove, out of Oakland, was convicted of murder by a San Francisco jury this week. The conviction came from a murder that took place in 2007. He was convicted of first-degree murder and being a felon in possession of a firearm.
Trulove was once a contestant on "I Love New York 2," a popular show on VH-1. Prosecutors argue that Trulove shot 28-year-old Seu Kuka at a San Francisco housing project. He was arrested in Monterey County on a $5 million warrant in October 2008. Trulove shot the first episodes of "I Love New York 2" only three weeks before Kuka was murdered.
Trulove appeared on the first episode, but was dismissed for fighting. He is set to face a minimum of 50 years in prison, when he is sentenced on March 19

If you are an African-American, undoubtedly you're in dire need of education especially English Literature and English comprehension, study for a GED that's a beginning. "not dat "da white man" BS....Come on my people!" You don't set an example for any people! And this is what I hear in public and private from our youth and adults. Where I attended High School, our graduating class usually topped 600, today if 40 it's a miracle! Brother!!

retarded azz young black brother? He may or may not be this and all the other things mentioned but you should reserve judgment because you don't know his story. Many black families have been plagued with dysfunctional homestyles and you don't know how he grew up. It damn sure doesn't justify him killing someone but other races having an opinion? whites have done more wrong to humanity than all other races combined! In fact, a lot of our issues is because of them. I am not saying that at this point we are not accountable for our own actions but you must understand this is hundreds of years of distorting and destroying our psyche and are sure as we rise and are making progress, there are the stranglers who may never pull it together...whose minds are forever warped. May be instead of saying oh, well, you should try reaching out to our young brothers in prison and giving them hope because those same brothers will be released on day back into society. or will oh, well suffice?

there are "dregs of society" in every race. the black race is just polorized more in the media. i agree with Geri. there is a stigma in our neighborhoods - you have to be a bad boy to be respected - the more drugs you sell, the more people you kill - the more respect you get.
p.s. @ aaron,,,,you didn't have to correct Geri's use of slang and internet shorthand, i'm sure she's educated. it's not "dat" serious.....lol

Again we see how stupid we are as a race, it is not just in Oakland it is all over the world. Check out the murder rate in Jamaica sometime. If Black people continue killing each other there wont be aqny of us left before too long.
Dont get me wrong but he should be given the death sentence. You take a life you should have to give your up. Why clothe and feed the bastard.

Scary to think that a killer was able to become a contestant on a VH1 reality show. I thought they did screening processes which included psychological evaluations. I get that anyone is capable of murder under the "right" circumstance (for example the movie Law Abiding Citizen) but an arguement escalating to murder is just insane. I will never understand how people take lives and just keep it moving nor will I ever understand how people do not fear JAIL. I LOVE FREEDOM!!!

Mmmmmmmm! maybe they should check out the contestants before putting them on T.V. This guy had to show some kind of violent signs in life even if he was a minor. I didnt know it's that easy to be on a reality show. Maybe I need to apply for a part on T.V.
