A 15-year-old girl was beaten and robbed in a Seattle Bus tunnel as three unarmed security guards watched it happen. The girl told investigators that she thought the guards would protect her from her attackers, and she even ran near the guards to get away from her assailants. Instead, the guards simply called police and watched the girl get beaten and kicked in the head several times. The thieves stole the girl's purse, phone and iPod.
The young woman told detectives that the group followed her from a local department store in to the bus tunnel at Westlake Station on January 28. When incidents like these take place, guards are ordered to "observe and report" only, not to intervene. The guards are employed by Olympic Security Services, Inc.
"I went to the security and told them that these kids were trying to jump me," the girl said. "I know that I am about to get jumped, and I am hanging around the guards to try and get protection. ... I thought the security guards would defend me."
The perpetrators have been charged and arrested, but the girl is recovering from her injuries. Citing a potentially fatal heart condition, she said that she kept covering her chest as she was getting kicked by her attackers.
You want my take on the issue? OK, let me calm down first, because I am absolutely furious.
How in the *&^% can you call yourself a security company if you are not actually providing security? A young child is being beaten by a mob of attackers and your people are trained to simply watch it happen? If these individuals are not there to provide security, then the label "security guard" should probably be removed. Perhaps actual transit police should be in the area, since we know that crime happens in bus tunnels, as it does everywhere else.
The city of Seattle needs to find better "security guards" for their bus tunnels, since apparently, its citizens are not safe. What's fundamentally true in this case is that the guards would have been fired for intervening, so their behavior is almost understood. At that point, the company hiring the "guards" must be held accountable for its policies. We also have to remember, though, that it is the city of Seattle who ultimately controls the security within its bus tunnels, so the city should be the target of public outrage. They've got to do a better job of protecting the city's children.

IF in the end, this report is as stated, it will then make fools out of all the whites who are using this fight incident as a Hate Training Tool.
Much like New Orleans, when they delayed sending AID to the people there in dire need, but instead brought their video cameras to live feed, the blacks suffering hunger and distress situation which drove them to enter stores for food and supplies, AFTER WAITING FOR THOSE SUPPLIES THAT NEVER CAME until well after the fact.
Which, by the way, was worded as looting, along side whites who instead were said to be “Just Collecting Supplies”
Not to mentioned that rather than sending in food and supplies to New Orleans’s ailing black citizens during such dire times, whites instead sent troops, armed with M16s, with an order to shoot to kill.
Although the order was LATER retracted, Why was such an order given in the first place?
And how much money did it cost to send armed troops when compared to sending food and supplies that made sending armed troops MORE cost effective?
(Did these whites not intend to have black survivors? And why were the whites separated from the blacks, who were packed like sardines in a stadium with no air condition or supplies while whites were moved to tents containing food supplies and refreshments?)
Yet alone whites turning away and denying donations from other nations who were seeking to help those blacks in new Orleans, Remember this?.
But all those white psychotically racist imbeciles cared about was getting a good video footage for their damn resumes at the expense of a dire situation blacks suffered.
As for these two black girls fighting, yes it was very wrong and if we were there, we’d have broken up that fight and if we were attacked by those under the adrenalin for a fight to be seen, that move on their part would have been most unwise and also for them, long remembered.
According to this report, the correct usage of preventative measures were attempted to avoid escalation of the matter which hardly sounds supportive in the rush to judgment of calling these Black youths animals.
But when black honor students (Made guilty by association) was attacked and brutally beaten by WHITE ADULT MALES employed as Police Officers, no one spoke of THAT as being a SAVAGE ACT as it were, yet alone those officers being suspended WITH PAY! (More like a reward)
We’ll be watching and collecting data on this case along with many others.

It's so sad that you took the time to display your bigoted opinions. May God touch your heart with a sense of tolerance before you die. I would hate for you to burn in eternal hell because of hatred.

Marylandman... I think it is so sad that you took the time to display your bigoted opinions. I pray that God touches your heart with a sense of tolerance before you die. I would hate for you to burn in eternal hell because of your hate of black people.

First of all this is a video about black people, so why the hell are yall talking about white teens and other white teens , this has nothing to do with that, with that said this is ridiculous just to sit here and witness how many of those people just sat there and watched this, 15 or 40 it doesnt matter, and its crazy to me how the guards didnt even make an emotional move toward the victim this is crazy, and this is why they look at us young black people and call us animals and thugs and gangsters, whether your in a suit or the flyest urban gear. This is crazy, i cant even begin to believe this

If the call is the city of Seattle, they should hire individuals who are PROPERLY trained in restraining unruly customers. Furthermore, they should be equipped with pepper spray and if this sort of behavior is leaning toward the norm for Seattle riders, security or control patrols should be equipped with handcuffs, tasers, and the authority to detain suspects. If not, the police should be on site.

This is for those group of ignorant white people that see this attack as an example of what "all black Americans" are like. They love to sit around and point their pathetic fingers at anything that will give them an opportunity to cast dispersions at a race of people that they despise and loath, but they never look at their own race. well look at this:http://www.aolnews.com/crime/article/3-dead-in-shooting-at-university-of-alabama-huntsville/
Highly educated white woman guns down 6 people because she was not going to get Tenor at the school. Wow!

If the victim sought help from police and was sort of ignored, she should have called family members to come and pick her up. Under no circumstance should this have happened to her, but I would have told my daughter to stay in a store until I arrive. Remember, cell phones are to use for emergencies too.

This incident happened in my city, Seattle, its a very busy bus tunnel where I catch it everyday. I was very disturbed when I seen this on the news because I always thought that was the reason for them being there is to make sure the people is protected. I could not understnd why both those grown men and women just stood there. They had way more power and strength than that teen. I wonder if it would have been their kid would have have just watched then. I cant stand violence and I just wouldnt have been able to stand there and do nothing if I was there. I am 57 years old, I might die trying to break it up a fight but it would have been worth it for me.

I was in a similar situation once when I moved to Colorado to stay with my aunt and uncle. There was this group of black kids harassing and figthing this white kid. I had turned 18 a few days before, anyway I was by myself and I intervened. This was like 6 girls on 1. I wasn't going to sit by and watch this regardless of skin color, and im black. This place and time we are living in is crazy, people don't care, it seems to be every man for him/herself. Truly heartless, and I feel for this girl.

If the security guards who watched had any humanity whatsoever, they would have felt impelled to help the young girl instinctively. They all lacked courage, conscience and strength of character, traits sorely lacking in the world today.
In addition, black people have been trained since slavery to dislike, disrespect, betray and harm each other. I would bet that if that girl had been been any other race, particularly Caucasian, the guards would have protected her.
