Sarah Palin Upset Over "Family Guy" Down Syndrome Joke

Sarah Palin
actually has a point this time. The former vice presidential nominee and governor of Alaska is upset that an animated show, "Family Guy" made fun of a character with Down Syndrome.

According to the Associated Press:

The episode features the character Chris falling for a girl with Down syndrome. On a date, he asks what her parents do. She replies: "My dad's an accountant, and my mom is the former governor of Alaska."

Palin's youngest son Trig was born with Down Syndrome. Her daughter Bristol Palin came out in support of her mom and brother.

"If the writers of a particularly pathetic cartoon show thought they were being clever in mocking my brother and my family yesterday, they failed," Bristol Palin wrote on her mother's Facebook page. "All they proved is that they're heartless jerks."Bristol is right. In trying to make fun of Palin, which I'm 100 percent in favor of, the show crossed the line in making fun of her child. The funny thing is that "Family Guy" is a show on Fox and Palin recently signed on as a commentator for Fox News where she continues to say the most idiotic things about the Obama administration.

For example, Palin recently complained that Obama's chief of staff Rahm Emanuel should be fired for calling some liberals :f***ing retards."

"I don't think he should be part of our president's inner circle, making decisions that affect every single one of us," Palin, a Fox News contributor, told host Bill O'Reilly. "I think he's given our president some very bad advice on a whole realm of different areas."

She gave Rush Limbaugh a pass for using the same word when talking about the controversy, saying it was satire. Maybe Emanuel should apologize but to say he should resign is just ridiculous. Palin seems to be picking silly political fights for her own financial gain but that just makes her one of a million political talking heads.

The price for that fame has been jabs at Palin's family. From Bristol's pregnancy and ugly public split and feud with the child's father to questions about her stance on sex education, some of these issues become fair game when you step out into the public forum.

I'm no fan of what Palin has had to say so far but maybe she should take this latest slight up with her boss Rupert Murdoch.
