As if the fallout from the 2006 racially charged case in which a black exotic dancer accused three white Duke Lacrosse players of raping her wasn't enough, according to WRAL news station in North Carolina, the accuser, Crystal Mangum, 33, was arrested at 2:30 a.m. last night, after she allegedly assaulted her boyfriend, set his clothes on fire in a bathtub and threatened to stab him.
For those who don't remember the case, here's footage of Ed Bradley's interview with the accused players:
Officers at the scene said Mangum gave them a fake name and age when they responded to a domestic violence call from one of the three children, 3, 9, and 10 years old, who lived in the house. Two officers reported that while they were in the house, Mangum threatened her boyfriend and then went into a bathroom and set his clothes on fire. Police called the fire department, the fire was put out, and no one was injured.
Mangum was booked on assault charges, arson and attempted murder.
In 2006, she claimed that three white members of the Duke lacrosse team trapped her inside a bathroom and sexually assaulted her during a lacrosse party where she had been invited to dance. The players were indicted on rape and other charges on the basis of her allegations but were eventually exonerated after North Carolina's attorney general dismissed the case.

I guess Dr. Boyce is to ashamed to even comment on this story, since he pretty much convicted the Duke players.

This does not mean she was not raped. She has issues. Those players could very easily have done what she said they did. But who is going to believe a stripper over some well-to-do college students. Judging by how her case was handled, she may have been enraged thinking that the police would not bring justice to the situation and that sould've set her off even more. Especially if she has mental challanges.

You know, this is sad. I wanted to believe this sister so bad. I still think something happened but she is clearly suffering from something emotional. They are making her out to look bad just to justify those boys characters and further kill her character.
We need to break all the pain that we cause each other in our communities, both male and female. I'm not making her the victim but she definitly have emotional problems. If someone truly love her get her some help. I hope our men, one day, would embrace our daughters and protect the hearts of our women so they dont act out like this.

The fact that you "wanted to believe this sister" speaks volumes regarding your mindset. Why would you "want" to believe her any more than believe some college kids were being wrongfully accused by some whore?
Fact is you *wanted* to be able to foam at the mouth about some rich white boys doin' a black woman wrong & gettin' away with it 'cuz they be white, The Man be oppressin' us, blah blah etc. etc. I.e. the OJ jury mindset.
Hey just do what Al Sharpton does and foam at the mouth with indignation no matter what the facts are.

i feel sorry for her because i have lived in the north carolina before and i know 1st hand just how corrupt that state is , so the best thing for her to do is once she is out of this trouble leave north carolina and start a new trouble free life.
because if you don't "they" will be after you for everything from jay walking to littering just to prove a point . so leave that state and get your life together.
your children need you!
