TMZ claims that Fantasia's manager became alarmed over what was supposed to be fan mail but ended up being a disturbing letter loaded with racial slurs – including the N-word – and a line that read, "Go back where you came from and die."Allegedly, the person who wrote the letter claims he worked as a security guard for the Fox Channel while Fantasia was a contestant on "American Idol."
Fantasia's manager tells us the singer immediately contacted theater security, which then contacted the LAPD.
In the meantime, the theater has "beefed up" security around Fantasia – and all over the venue – and will be screening anything sent to Barrino's dressing room before it gets to her.
Fantasia said, "I will not be defeated by one isolated person's hatred."

Stupid ignorant dumb ppl are always saying go back where you came from because black americans- ancestors are from africa ,like we were born in africa ourselves because were black. just goes to show you how much air ppls brain have in it and nothing else!
when ppl speak hate about blk ppl its because they hate who they really are, and their color because they weren't born with the beauty that we poss, the culture, rythmn and all around uniqueness and versatility. it speaks for itself all the hate through television, white hair commercials,the soaps and fake hollywood movieland

I understand your point and for the record I am by no means a fan of Fantasia's music. That said, I totally respect this young woman with regards to her talent and what I can see of her the value she has for family. Clearly the Scum who threatened her is gutless,a coward and without value. Like her music or not the woman is doing something with her life..Anyone who sees it differently ain't really about shyt.

And if they do just remember the Ghetto need good music to. I think she is a great singer and the problems she had with the color purple will be resolved. I live in a small town in North Carolina and would love to have Fantasia. sing in our church our congartaion is small but I love her singing and voice. Fantasia has been through a lot so all of you stop hateing

Fantasia said I will not be defeated That is the motivation that made her famous and will enable her to continue. I dont know yet where her Grandmother's church is but I plan to visit one day and would love to invite them to attend our little church in Kippling NC

Jerlin, her grandmother's church is in the Trinity area. I live in High Point and stay about 5 mins away from her house. In fact until I recently saw the cars on the show, that it was her brother "Teeny" that I used to see visiting the grandmother on a regular basis.
