Samantha Lynn Frazier was strolling into a local Atlantic City, N.J., bar this past Saturday, when she heard two loud blasts. The 35-year-old woman suddenly felt a sharp pain on her left side. When the baffled woman grabbed her midsection and gazed down at her hands, she noticed that they were bloodied.
The stray bullets were not meant for the young woman; instead, the gunman was aiming for a man who was nearby. The intended victim escaped injury, miraculously, when one of the bullets bore through his down-filled jacket but managed to miss him entirely.
Frazier, though, was taken to a nearby hospital. The attending physicians told the Florida resident that the extra fatty layer deposited around her waist was actually her saving grace. "I could have been dead. They said my love handles saved my life," says Frazier.
Ironically, Frazier had been keying herself up to lose weight, but now she's had a change of heart, "I want to be as big as I can if it's going to stop a bullet."
The gunman fled the scene and his whereabouts are unknown.

This is rediculous. How discouraging to people who have a weight problem. She looks so ignorant and I don't feel this is very newsworthy.

How sad that instead of making a nice comment about her still being alive, some of you choose to call her names.In this day and age, people of all races and nationalities should be kind to one another. We definitely don't need to add any excuses for remaining obese. The entire country is in an epidemic. We really don't need to make fun of it either. I agree that she set herself up for the jokes but come on ya'll.

It must have been from a small gun or she was hit at an angle because I just watched a story on MANswers on how much fat it would take to stop a bullet from a 9MM and they figured a person would have to be roughly 1200 LBS to stop a bullet from 50 feet away from a 9 MM. Anyhow perhaps if her lovehandles weren't there she wouldn't have been hit in the first place.

And yet the story is about the fat chick. Rather than, say, lose the weight and get the same kind of jacket the intended victim had, she's just gonna park her ass down at McDonald's and eat until her heart stops. Seriously.

Oh My? Well at least her love handles served a purpose for SOMETHING? I am glad she's ok, Now she need to get rid of the weight before it causes her health problem.
