Democrats to Move on with Health Care After Summit
Yesterday, President Barack Obama held a daylong health care summit in order to have one final bipartisan discussion with Republicans on the overhaul. While it is even more clear that Democrats will have to charge ahead with their bill, without GOP backing, it is said that common ground was found in the meeting. These shared opinions, though, weren't enough to get the Republicans on board to lending their votes to the much-needed legislation. All and all, the AP reports that Democrats will indeed forge ahead to get health care reform through. This is a gutsy move on the part of Democrats; for, many stand to risk not getting reelected this November in the upcoming elections. The public will have to vote on whether the Democrats made the right move in getting health care for this nation or not. Either way, with virtually no previous administration being able to reform our primitive health care system, Democrats have decided that the time is now. [AP]
