Mark Williams, one of the tour partners for the Tea Party Express, called President Barack Obama "our half-white, racist president." He also referred to President Obama as a "Nazi."
In a September e-mail obtained by Talking Points Memo, Williams was responding to what he called a "false allegation" by CNN that he called President Obama a Nazi. Williams then attempted to argue that he has a strong record on Civil Rights.
He mentioned "marching for civil rights while asshole Southern sheriffs were swinging nail-studded bats at blacks' heads."
When speaking to CNN's Anderson Cooper, Williams seemed to backpedal on his words a bit. Here's the transcript:
COOPER: But wait, Mark, you're actually the one who called President Obama a Nazi.
WILLIAMS: I didn't call Barack Obama a Nazi.
COOPER: Yes, he's on your list, on your Web site of like 21st century Nazis. You have his name.
WILLIAMS: We've got the philosophy of fascism and national socialism at work here. Of course we do.
COOPER: No, no. but you have the president's name, although it's a derivation that's not his actually name. It's a name it's kind of a negative.
WILLIAMS: Mubarak Hussein Obama.
COOPER: Right, that's what's you call him on your Web site. You're the one who's using the term Nazi.
The Tea Party Express is a nationwide anti-Obama bus tour. It has strong associations with the group Our Country Deserves Better PAC, which is run out of the Republican strategy firm Russo Marsh. Williams is a spokesperson for Tea Party Express.
Robin Stublen, a leader of the Tea Party Patriots, said this to The Huffington Post:
"Mark Williams is not someone I would want being my spokesman. He comes off as an arrogant, self-promoting, egotistical jerk. In politics, people like Mark Williams are a dime a dozen, even when you factor in inflation."
Williams typed these remarks in to a September e-mail that was obtained by the media:
"I will defend my record on race to no one [sic], under any circumstances, and I will call out any racist any time without regard to who they are ... and that includes our half-white, racist president."
When it comes to Williams and the rest of the Tea Party Movement, some simple thoughts come to mind:
1) Calling someone a racist is okay but you have to have evidence. It appears that evidence and logic are two things that the Tea Parties don't seem to value. The movement is based on irrational anger and resentment toward the first black authority figure our nation has ever been forced to address. That is the source of much of the anger.
2) Complaints about socialist policies are a bit hypocritical. The United States is a capitalist society, but not completely. We were socialists when the government intervened to save banks. We use socialism when Americans ask for unemployment benefits, social security payments or to be saved from foreclosure. We are also using forms of socialism when Americans want to call the fire or police departments. The Tea Partiers seem to love capitalism when it benefits them, but embrace socialist concepts when they are demanding that the government bail them out of their economic hardships.
Like other silly movements of the past, the Tea Party Express will eventually die. At the same time, they have a very real ability to impact the midterm elections. Republicans will gain congressional seats and then find themselves to be just as ineffective as their predecessors. That is the pattern of Washington.

"Dr." Watkins writes:
"Like other silly movements of the past, the Tea Party Express will eventually die."
Well, the polls say that the Tea Party movement is more popular than either the Democratic or Republican parties. So much for dying.
What's dying is support for Obama, which is at all time lows and heading lower among the general voting population. Only among blacks is it still above 45% (among blacks it will always be 98%, and we all know why):

THE TEA BAGGERS ARE A HATEFUL GROUP OF THUGS. THAT'S EXACTLY WHAT THEY ARE AND THE MAJORITY OF AMERICANS KNOW THAT.
IF THOSE HATEFUL TEA BAGGERS WERE SO GREAT THEN WHY DIDN'T THEIR PARTY ...THE REPUBLICANS WIN THE PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION?
THE TEA BAGGERS ....REPUBLICANS ARE ALL THE SAME.
PEOPLE WERE SICK OF BUSH AND CHENEY AND THEIR B.S. OVER THE LAST 8 YEARS.
JUST BECAUSE THE PARTY OF "NO"...THE PARTY OF "HATE" ...THE PARTY OF "EVIL"...DECIDES TO HAVE A GANG OF THUGS CALLED THE TEA BAGGERS REPRESENTING THEM AT TOWN HALLS MEETINGS ACTING LIKE A BUNCH OF WHITE TRASH METH ADDICTS DOESN'T MEAN THAT PEOPLE SUPPORT THEM.
THEY HAVE BECOME THE BIGGEST JOKE OF THE CENTURY.
THERE WERE TOWN HALL MEETINGS WITH DISCUSSIONS ON HEALTH CARE REFORM WITH REAL AMERICANS TELLING THEIR STORIES OF ISSUES THEY HAD WITH THEIR INSURANCE COMPANIES. THOSE HATEFUL EVIL WHITE TRASH METH ADDICT TEA BAGGER REPUBLICANS WOULD HOLLER AND SCREAM LIKE A BUNCH OF METH ADDICTED JUNKIES THAT DID NOT GET THEIR DAILY DOSE OF METH. THEY WERE SCREAMING AND SCREAMING SO THAT THE REAL AMERICAN PERSON WHO WAS TRYING TO TELL THEIR STORIES OF HOW UNFAIR THE INSURANCE COMPANIES HAD BEEN TO THEM WOULD NOT BE HEARD.
THE TEA BAGGER THUGS WERE SENT TO THOSE TOWN HALL MEETINGS AND PROBABLY WERE PAID TO BE THERE BY THEIR PERFORMANCES ACTING LIKE CRAZY JUNKIES.
IT WAS MORE THAN OBVIOUS TO THE MAJORITY OF AMERICANS THAT IF YOU HAVE A TOWN HALL MEETING AND YOU ARE DISCUSSING ISSUES THAT HAVE HAPPENED TO YOU AND SOMEONE IS ACTING LIKE A CRAZED LUNIE WHEN YOU ARE TRYING TO SPEAK AND THEY ARE CONSTANTLY DISRUPTING YOU BY SCREAMING AND SCREAMING AND SCREAMING....IT IS MORE THAN OBVIOUS THAT THEY WERE PAID TO BE THERE FOR THE SOLE PURPOSE OF THEIR AGENDA WHICH WAS THE REPUBLICAN-INSURANCE COMPANY AGENDA.
IT'S OBVIOUS THAT THE INSURANCE LOBBYIST ALONG WITH THE REPUBLICANS PAID THOSE PEOPLE TO ACT LIKE A BUNCH OF NUTS AT THOSE TOWN HALL MEETINGS.
THE TEA BAGGERS ACTIONS AT THOSE MEETINGS SHOWED AMERICANS AND THE WORLD JUST HOW EVIL AND HATEFUL THE TEA BAGGERS AND THE REPUBLICANS REALLY ARE.
THE REPUBLICANS CONCERNS ARE ONLY FOR BIG BUSINESS... BIG COMPANY BUSINESS THEY DON'T CARE ABOUT AMERICANS. THE REPUBLICANS ARE FOR THE INSURANCE COMPANIES THE DEMOCRACTS ARE FOR THE AMERICAN PEOPLE.
THE PEOPLE THAT VOTED FOR PRESIDENT OBAMA ARE AMERICAN PEOPLE NOT THE INSURANCE COMPANIES.
THE REPUBLICANS ARE KNOWN AS THE PARTY OF "NO" AND ALSO AS THE PARTY OF "EVIL HATEFUL PEOPLE."

There is nothing wrong in supporting a black man for the same reason, you don't support him which is mostly based on false lies ans and his blackness. There is nothing wrong in blacks not supporting whites as you support whites for whatever reason. In retrospect this is the same mindset that whites have toward the all black jury that free O.J., something that all white juries are accustomed to doing with white on black crimes.

Boyce got it right. The Tea Partiers too shall fail, or any other organization that's based on hate. Do you remember Klansman David Dukes failed effort to organize white voters in the 80s? Where is he now? and whatever happen to the organization he started. Why don't you ask Rasmussen to run some polls on David Dukes and his organization. The truth of the matter is that well meaning Americans of all hues don't want to be associated with racist jerks. Politicians are sort of in a bind. Look at poor Rubio who's challenging gov Crist in Fla. Rubio wants Tea Partiers support so badly but is dodging the association. Will TP drop support of Rubio because he refuse to state publicly that he welcomes their support. What do you make of that I wonder? Tea Partiers may help a few candidates in November, but can they truly enjoy longevity without being acknowledged?

No Bill "we" don't know "why". Why don't YOU tell US "why"? Since you have so much "insight". Let's here it. But remember the results of "ASSuming" something. It never fails and is as old as dirt itself. Someone (usually a person that is NOT Black themselves) tends to believe that if ONE Black person likes something or someone, then ALL Blacks do. That's what you are implying are you not? It happened with Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton (who mostly the MEDIA claimed as "Black leaders" I don't know if they bothered to ask any REAL Black people)Just like any other group,Blacks are made up of INDIVIDUALS. One person is as different from next. Blacks DO NOT have a "hive mentality". That's like me learning about Hitler and Stalin and projecting what they believed on ALL Germans and Russians. As far as Mr.Obama and his administration I see it like this for over 200 years this country has been lead by White men of European decent. Some of which have did great good for EVERYONE. But also some who were slave owners and openly racist and upheld racist laws. And some of these men White America calls "heroes". But I think that the Natives,Blacks,Chinese and any other non-white at the time would call them something else. My point is this:It shouldn't matter what color the president is,but OBVIOUSLY it does to some. But if Blacks were able to SURVIVE 200+ years of White presidents (most of whom needed to have their necks twisted before they passed any laws to aid Blacks and other "minorities")then I am sure Whites are able to "survive" (personally I like Obama)four years of a Black man being president. You should take some of the advice of your fellows Bill. The advice I have been reading online since the 90's. "Stop whinning and get over it"! Did I say it right Bill? Huh? Did I?

Hi Bill,
What polls are you speaking of? Are those polls reliable, valid? Is the Tea Party movement really more popular? The numbers of those types of non-thinkers seem to be as small and as insignificant as the present day KKK. The fact that the Tea Party agenda gets attention in the media does not mean that if has significant power. The general public is too smart to fall for the Tea Party nonsense. Therefore, they are sure to phase out. They will also phase out for the same reason that slavery was phased out; fear of the growing power of slave rebellion was the motivation for the abolition of slavery, not slave owners coming to a moral awakening. If the Tea Party ever began to stifle the black community, then understand that the black community would not allow it to continue. Martin Luther King's agenda was adopted in America, because America was afraid of the alternative agenda, that of Malcolm X. You see Bill, we are not blind from gaining access to pieces of the carrot.
One of the things you should become acquainted with is the fact that there is an organized black nation outside of the whole Obama thing, another segment of people, a separate society, sort of like a tea party, but they are for all peoples.
Where do you get your percentages among the general and black populations? I think you are probably receiving these percentages from those who promote your views. My most important question is this: Why will support for Obama among blacks always be 98%? I am a black man, and he must do what is best and right; if he does not do what is best and right, then I will not continue to support him. Right is Right. Wrong is wrong. Smart is smart. Stupid is stupid. Where are you within the dynamics of right, wrong, smart, and stupid? Don’t let the fear of truth, fear of self, and fear of change keep you locked up in the dynamic which traps the Tea Party people.

Wrong!
The Tea Party and I were against socialist bank bailouts. Don't confuse the Tea Party with some members of the Republican Party (although the House Republicans entirely voted against bank bailouts, it was the House Democrats that made it possible).
As far as the other services you mention, some are allowed by the Constitution. The socialism we are against is what isn't allowed by the Constitution.
You need to read the 10th amendment to the Constitution. You need to read how the Constitution meant for the US currency to be backed by gold/silver and not a fiat paper currency with infinite printing by an unconstitutional Federal Reserve.
The ignorance in this article is depressing.

Did you and the rest of the Tea Baggers really read the Constitution? Funny when you ask a Tea Bagger to explain what part of the constitution they are speaking about they can't answer. So what is the real reason you are protesting? Could it be that president Obama has darker skin than yanyone representing your group.
