Nation of Islam leader Louis Farrakhan predicted that there would be trouble ahead for President Barack Obama. He also urged the president to do more to improve the lives of African Americans and the downtrodden of our nation.
Farrakhan argued that the "white right" is conspiring to make Obama a one-term president. He referenced the efforts to kill health care reform as proof of their plans. He also felt that the president was being trapped in to a war with Iran.
Other interesting comments from Farrakhan's nearly four-hour long speech included reference to his being a prophet:
"The word prophet is too cheap a word. I am a light in the midst of darkness," Farrakhan stated at the Nation's annual convention. "It ain't ego, it's my love for you."
Farrakhan argued that many of the recent natural disasters, such as earthquakes in Haiti and Chile, are warnings to President Obama:
"Your people are suffering. You can't ease their plight, but you can use your bully pulpit. Speak for the poor. Speak for the weak."
Farrakhan also made the point that the Nation of Islam has been able to successfully reform prison inmates for decades and that President Obama should allow his organization to receive additional government funding:
"Put some money on back of us," he said. "We can reform our people."
The minister continued to address Obama and his support for him. Obama has distanced himself from Farrakhan since his run for president in 2008. Some have wondered if Obama has met with Farrakhan and how the meeting played a role in Obama's agenda, but Farrakhan isn't speaking on the issue either way:
"They all want to know did I ever meet with him and what did I say or what did he say," Farrakhan said in the speech. "I ain't going there."
The Minister Louis Farrakhan is one of the most liberated men in America. He is one of the few black public figures who is free to say what he wants, when he wants, without worrying about what others are going to think. He is marginalized, but there is freedom in marginalization, which tends to breed a greater commitment to independence. By creating an independent nation within a nation, Farrakhan has achieved the economic liberation necessary to speak of what he perceives to be the truth.
Farrakhan is also one of the most brilliant leaders in America, and the only black man on earth who can give a four-hour speech and have the audience hanging on his every word. Most of those who feel that Farrakhan is silly or ignorant are judging him on soundbites and nothing more. Although many African Americans are not able to connect with every aspect of Farrakhan's complex message, he is held with a degree of reverence that is matched by no other.
Farrakhan's complex relationship with President Obama is intriguing. With both men being products of Chicago and having connections with Rev. Jeremiah Wright, the nation is left wondering just how much influence Farrakhan might have had on the president. With Farrakhan's image as one of the most radical black men in America, any affiliation whatsoever would lead to a firestorm. The fact that Farrakhan has maintained support for Obama from a distance is a reflection of his political intelligence. He was actually one of a small number of black public figures who didn't have much to say about Obama's historic run to the White House.
Say what you want about Louis Farrakhan, but his interesting and prolific rise to power has solidified his place in black history.

You say some good things and you may be prophet, but you are not God's prophet. You don't even have the Holyghost. God has a Son named Christ and if you don't honor Christ, you don't honor God.
Yes, white people do think they are i charge, but they are not, they just take try tot take over everything.

Jesus had two sides to himself. Jesus the teacher and Jesus the worrior. When he taught only the poor heared him gladly. When he went to war it was against the roman authorities (white people, faulse jews). They charged him with blasphemy because he spoke of a kingdom(nation)that God would rule. Farrakhan is fighting the same fight that Jesus would have fought for YOU and US.He carries a Nation within a modern rome the (U.S.A). When he speaks he speaks the truth. Jesus spoke of a man who would be called the "spirit of truth". That's the real Holy Spirit. Many claim to have it. But Farrakhan is using it.

IT IS CLEAR THAT YOU DON'T STUDY THE WORD.
STUDY FOR YOURSELF AND DONT BE LIKE THOSE WHO IN JESUS'S DAY, SAY HE WASN'T WHO HE WAS.
FARRKHAN IS A MAN OF GOD! GOD IS WITH HIM AND SOON THE WORLD WILL SEE IT FOR THEMSELVES!

Who did Jesus Christ say he was? and was he a Muslim (one who submits his life to God) or was he a Christian?
Ponder on that!
He most certainly could have not been a Christian either because Christianity would had at the earliest began w/ worshiping him after he departed!
In all actuality Christianity is the youngest religion!
All those people of the New Testiment were worshipers of God and the submitted their life to God and were all Muslims. Except of course those who strayed away and were killed or cursed by God.
Pay attention or lose out on the Kingdom of God!

Wow everyone wants to hate the white man. However, since slaves became free not one has moved back to Africa, why, because they have it much better in America. Look at all the Illegals from Mexico and other places in South America, they hate the white man also. Again, look at all of them moving to America. The white man has not been perfect, but they have set up good systems in which we all live. So we need to relax on our hate for whites and start working with them, and worrying about our family system which seems to be flawed. We can blame no one but ourselves.

"Look at all the Illegals from Mexico and other places in South America, they hate the white man also. "
Umm, illegal where? The US shouldn't even be a country in the first place. We're all living on stolen land, built by the free labor of stolen people. These are facts.

To Ken Jones: Your statement is WAY to broad. "Everyone" doesn't hate the white man. Some of us get along quite well with other races. Secondly, whites may have something to do with "setting up good systems", but A LOT of the credit can definitely be handed to blacks and individuals of other races. I guess you don't pay much attention to history. Lastly, coming from a wider perspective, (and believe me, I've almost seen it all) the "family system" is flawed across the board; not just in "our" race. The system in which you speak is color-blind. Welcome to reality.

The country of Liberia was set up by ex-slaves. Look up Liberia/Marcus Garvey/Black Star Line etc.
Many freed slaves were born into slavery in America, The Caribbean and Europe. They didn't know Africa. I wouldn't imagine it's very easy to "go back" to someplace you've never been. But many tried and did.
