A minority student has come forward to apologize for hanging a noose in the main library of the UC San Diego campus.
In a letter published Monday on the front page of the UC San Diego student newspaper, the Guardian, the student wrote that the incident was "a mindless act and stupid mistake" and was not meant to recall the lynching of blacks.
"As a minority student who sympathizes with the students that have been affected by the recent issues on campus, I am distraught to know that I have unintentionally added to their pain," the student wrote. She was suspended Friday and remains under investigation for a possible hate crime. Source
The unidentified student then goes on to offer one of the worst excuses for racial terrorism ever proffered.This young lady says she and some friends were simply engaging in some random lasso, rope-play until their arts and crafts session just got out of hand.
The woman wrote that she and friends had been playing with the rope early last week, making a lasso and then a noose. (see it here)
She said that she took it to the library Tuesday, strung it above a desk and forgot about it. Its discovery Thursday night caused a firestorm on campus, where tensions were high after a Feb. 15 off-campus party that mocked Black History Month. Her excuse is so pathetic, but is it possibly sincere? But I wonder about the quality of education at UC San Diego if their students don't have a clue as to how a noose would be perceived in the midst of racial turmoil on campus.
Frankly, I cannot think of any time that's a good time for hanging a noose. Can YOU? And, since she does not claim to be black, does it matter to YOU which minority she belongs to?

No it does not matter what minority she is in. Whether she was black or not is not the issue. What she did was inconsiderate and foolish. What else do you associate a noose with, hanging, is the only thing that comes to mind for me. And in do to prior events (the mockery of black history) at this location I feel it was very wrong and for her to say she didn't think of what it would cause, is idiotic. She knew what she was doing she just got caught.

Wow - which 'minority' does she belong to? Why is that information being hidden? Now based on the bottomless hate that latinos express all the time on these black interest websites, my guess is latino but the 'powers that be' want to just leave us black people in the dark. So all of our ancestors who've suffered murders at the hands of these despicable animals don't deserve that much respect? Something's terribly wrong here.

OK, people, the student who hung the noose was a black girl - does that make it better?? Also the ridiculous party where kids were told to dress "ghetto" and they served Chicken and watermelon one of the organizers was “Jiggaboo Jones”, who calls himself The #1 Nigger In America. Never mind that ghetto behavior is ridiculous, and should be ridiculed. None of that matters? Well why doesn't it matter, because blacks are offended? I think that if the student who hung the noose were white he/she would have been arrested already. Let's get this straight, it's not "whitey" who is doing this stuff it's blacks who really don't see a problem with this, especially the party - who cares??

I've stayed away from this site for days and you answer me with a bald faced lie. I already knew she wasn't black because I understand the the USA. If she was black it would have been broadcast over all media. They're protecting a f88king spic at the detriment of my ancestors and that's boils me. That's ok cause I've always been able to channel my anger positively.

I find it interesting that everyone is taking action before we even know who did what or why? What if we find that a minority or a black did the Hood thing? I remember twana brawley saying she was beat by whites and that caused all kinds of people to blame whites, then it was found that she lied. Remember 1000's marched for her and sharpton ended up getting sued because it was all a lie. Wait to see who did it and quit pointing fingers at whites so quick. To me, that is racist when you automatically assume it was a white person.Why does the black community feel that EVERYONE hates them????

Look it up, this is one of many phony campus hate crimes. It is usually done by a liberal minority trying to "prove" racism.
The fraternity party was offensive and the students should be reprimanded. College students are very immature and can react in juvenile ways to the constant drumbeat of political correctness. or whatever else they have a problem with.
