A minority student has come forward to apologize for hanging a noose in the main library of the UC San Diego campus.
In a letter published Monday on the front page of the UC San Diego student newspaper, the Guardian, the student wrote that the incident was "a mindless act and stupid mistake" and was not meant to recall the lynching of blacks.
"As a minority student who sympathizes with the students that have been affected by the recent issues on campus, I am distraught to know that I have unintentionally added to their pain," the student wrote. She was suspended Friday and remains under investigation for a possible hate crime. Source
The unidentified student then goes on to offer one of the worst excuses for racial terrorism ever proffered.This young lady says she and some friends were simply engaging in some random lasso, rope-play until their arts and crafts session just got out of hand.
The woman wrote that she and friends had been playing with the rope early last week, making a lasso and then a noose. (see it here)
She said that she took it to the library Tuesday, strung it above a desk and forgot about it. Its discovery Thursday night caused a firestorm on campus, where tensions were high after a Feb. 15 off-campus party that mocked Black History Month. Her excuse is so pathetic, but is it possibly sincere? But I wonder about the quality of education at UC San Diego if their students don't have a clue as to how a noose would be perceived in the midst of racial turmoil on campus.
Frankly, I cannot think of any time that's a good time for hanging a noose. Can YOU? And, since she does not claim to be black, does it matter to YOU which minority she belongs to?

Instead of an apology there has been steady escalation and now the noose. So, what exactly will the excuses be for this cowardly act that brings up memories of the confederate KKK of the South in their attempts to keep slavery and the non-whites in fear? Is it that are uneducated, is it that their parents planted these seeds of hate, is it that they are live in fear because our President in the white house is not 100% white. In my opinion this is what the small portions of the republican party of “birthers, baggers and blowhards” have brought you. These kids are good at “Follow the Leader” of their dullard leaders, they listen to Beck, Hedgecock, Hannity, O’Reilly, Rush and Savage and the rest of the Blowhards, they are young and dumb. Are you surprise at what they do when you know what they think? The world is complicated and most republicans (Hamiliton, Lincoln, Roosevelt) believe that we should use a government a little to increase social mobility, now its about dancing around the claim of government is the problem. The sainted Reagan passed the biggest tax increase in American history and as a result federal employment increased, but facts are lost when mired in mysticism and superstition. Although most republicans are trying to distant themselves from this fringe they have a long way to go.

Hanging was not just a black thing, more white were hung than blacks. Blacks just seem to dwell on it. Why do black people take it personally when another black wronged I dont take it personally when a person of my race is wronged its none of my business
