Naomi Campbell's Driver Backpedals Off Allegations

Naomi Campbell

The driver who accused Naomi Campbell of assaulting him said that he "got angry and overreacted" to the incident. He also regrets bringing the police in to the situation.

"This whole thing has been blown out of proportion, and I apologize to Ms. Campbell for causing that to happen," driver Miodrag Mejdina said.

Mejdina told police on Tuesday that Campbell hit him in the head from behind, causing his head to hit the steering wheel. He claimed that the accident bruised his right eye. He stopped in midtown Manhattan and told a traffic agent, who then called police. Campbell was gone by the time the officers arrived on the scene.

After consulting with police, the Manhattan District Attorney's office issued a harassment report, which carries no penalty. The lack of penalty is due to the fact that there was no officer who witnessed what happened between the driver and Campbell.

This is not the first time Campbell has had trouble with the law due to her temper. She now faces a long list of lawsuits and criminal cases for allegedly attacking some of her employees and two police officers in London. She was sentenced to 200 hours of community service after officers claimed that she kicked, spat and cursed at them in the airport.

"I have worked very hard on correcting my previous wrongdoings, and I will not be held hostage to my past," she said.

When it comes to Campbell's temper, the bottom line is this: You don't want your little girls to grow up to be like her. Consistent allegations of disrespectful and violent behavior seem to imply that Campbell has not learned the value of treating other human beings with decency and respect. For some reason, we live in a world where a person who is rich, famous and beautiful is somehow allowed to believe that he or she is better than other people. I find this to be incredibly sad.
