Lil Wayne finally began his prison sentence today for attempted criminal possession of a weapon. He is at Rikers Island jail complex and will reportedly have his own cell, due to his fame. Wayne was sentenced on Monday for a year but will likely be released from prison in eight months on good behavior. The star was arrested and convicted for having a loaded weapon on his tour bus in 2007. [Yahoo News]

Haitian President to Meet with Obama

Haitian President Rene Preval will meet with President Barack Obama on Wednesday to discuss Haiti's future, regarding job creation and reconstruction. President Preval also intends to thank President Obama for the public and private aid that has reached Haiti since the Jan. 12th earthquake. [Washington Post]

Abortion Battle May Derail Health Care Reform

Health care reform is on the ropes again, and this time it is because of abortion. The House and Senate versions of health care appropriate funds for abortion differently, and anti-abortion leaders, such as the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops and the National Right to Life Committee, are bickering over which version of health care would restrict abortion more. U.S. and Human Rights Groups Talk with Nigeria
The U.S. government and a number of human rights groups communicated with Nigeria today, regarding the security needed since the weekend massacre of more than 200 Christians in Nigeria. So far, 90 people are said to have been arrested for the heinous crimes of burning women and children alive and hacking villagers to death. Acting President Goodluck Jonathan fired his national security advisor yesterday for not securing the villages effectively. [CBS News]
