It would be nice if Republicans could simply face the fact that they lost the battle of health care reform.
But the party of privilege isn't used to hearing the word "NO" applied to anything they seek.
So as President Barack Obama was signing in to law landmark legislation that will provide health care coverage for 32-million uninsured Americans, Republicans across the country were still trying to fight a battle they have already lost.
In the Senate, Republicans are offering a number of add-ons to a companion health care reform bill to delay the inevitable.
In at least 30 states, lawmakers are trying to quickly pass new regulations to derail key provisions of the federal health care bill that was passed by Congressional vote late Sunday evening.
Last week, Idaho became the first state to pass a law, preventing the federal government from forcing Americans to get health insurance, as required by the new federal law.
Look for other states, including Alabama, Colorado, South Carolina, Texas, Utah and others, to pass similar legislation.
I could give the Republicans just a little credit if they were fighting over solid legal principles or legitimate points of jurisprudence.
But that's the last thing on Republican minds, because the legal arguments they are employing have been shot through with more holes than a piece of Swiss cheese in the nation's courtrooms.
To say it most simply, federal law trumps state law in all but the most unusual circumstances. The state legal challenges are a waste of time and taxpayer dollars - nothing more.
Republicans are sore losers. They need to grow up.

Sus7637. We (Republicans) will jump only if you go first! First of all I am all for helping people with a hand up but not a hand out...I haven’t worked hard for my family so that someone else can tell me what I need to or spend my money on. If you weren’t so silly and help yourself…Maybe you wouldn’t want to steal what someone else has, because that is all it is, Stealing. You and everyone that thinks like you are thieves! I wish there were laws to arrest you and everyone that thinks like you. Help yourself like we have and maybe you could see the bigger picture. I’m not white, I’m a well educated wealth southern black woman! Also don’t assume we all know what that does.

I would like to understand the mindset that getting a basic right is a handout? How is being able to see a doctor when you are sick a handout? I think it is a ludicrous that some states are essentially fighting against giving their most venerable citizens the right to be healthy. It is interesting that republicans play to the supposed values of America. They preach that one must work hard and that is when your reward comes. Most of these republicans did not have to work hard, most of them have privileged families, and their wealth was handed to them. The republican camp banks on the lack of education rampant in America. Most of America is uneducated; this is the strength of the Republican Party. An uneducated America=easy manipulation. Based on your comment, you fall squarely in their territory.

I am happy the Billed passed, I have great insurance but not all Americans do, what a shame, that people can be denied for a pre-existing condition, before this health care reform. Republicans need to accept this change and stop spreading out right lies about this bill. The Republicans are inciting hatred and bigotry by their behavior. They are literally behaving like street thugs.

I encourage to read the bill for yourself and get Glen Beck and Rush Limbaugh out of your ear; they are the very rich and trust me they do not have the average american best interest at heart. All these two do is incite fear which is not helping anyone. Trust me, the average working person will be the ones who benefit from having health care in the long run. This bill is not a handout, or Medicaid, which has been in existence for decades.

I am so PROUD of those politicians who could vote with a conscious; considering the lack of equal medical care for the less fortunate, including the seniors. Those Wealthy Hippocrites who think only about what their $$ can do for themselves should
take a good look in the mirror and feel ashame of their selfish reasons for voting against the Health Care Reform Bills

Casey! Believe it or not, some people actually have the ability to make decisions based not on their own wants or personal needs, but for the betterment of society, or his neighbors as a whole. Most people realize that taxes will go up. Personally, I'm not happy about that, however, I realize that sometimes public interest trumps my personal wants. I realize most of America feel entitled, such as you. I know that I must contribute to the improvement of this country, if I have to pay higher taxes, oh well.
