Catholic Priest Accused of Sexual Abuse May Be Extradited to U.S.
Rev. Joseph Palanivel Jeyapaul of India is yet another Roman Catholic priest accused of sexually assaulting a minor. Jeyapaul was overseeing the Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Greenbush, Minn., when he returned to India to visit his sick mother. While there, he was accused of groping a 16-year-old and never returned to America. Critics of the Catholic church are saying Jeyapaul is another example of rogue priests who are protected by the Catholic establishment. In light of all the sexual abuses that have come to light, though, Jeyapaul may very well be extradited to the United States to face the charges. [AP]
