Tina Fey Brings Back Sarah Palin Impression on SNL

It was THE impression of the presidential election season.

Tina Fey's Saturday Night Live reprisal of Republican Vice Presidential Candidate Sarah Palin was so on point, Palin had to appear on the show during the campaign season to acknowledge the impression.

The only question was when would Fey, who has seen her career take off since developing the Palin character, would reprise the act.

The answer came Saturday, when Fey brought back her Palin impression - this time making fun of Palin's new gig as a FOX News contributor.

Fey, who created the popular NBC comedy "30 Rock" and stars in this week's No. 1 movie release, "Date Night," has seen her fortunes rise in the wake of creating the Palin caricature.

Meanwhile, Palin, who will soon begin production of an eight-part series called "Sarah Palin's Alaska" on TLC hasn't done too badly for herself either, since she and John McCain lost the presidential election.

Though sound bites from her public appearances show her grasp of the issues as still tissue-paper thin, Palin has remained a darling of the Republican party. Like Presidents Ronald Reagan and George W. Bush before her, Palin is using the same "less-is-more" strategy that the party faithful love.

Palin shoots from the lip (even if her notes are written on her hand), tells it the way she sees it and doesn't let many pesky facts get in the way.

An example of Palin's position was revealed when President Barack Obama was forced to address Palin's comments on nuclear policy during an interview on Good Morning America.

Interviewer George Stephanopoulos asked the President about his reaction to Palin's criticism of his actions. Obama responded:

"I really have no response, because, last I checked, Sarah Palin's not much of an expert on nuclear issues."

Correct. But my only question is why should Obama even have to dignify Palin's ramblings with a response?

He is the president. She is a television gabber. Obama would do better to respond to Tina Fey's political queries, if she has any. At least she's in a hit movie.

Watch the foolishness here:
