Multiracial Census NumbersReal Multiracial Number for 2010 Census Unknown
With the 2000 Census, 2.4 percent of the population described themselves as both "white and black." That census was the first to allow people to select more than one race. With the 2010 census, authorities expect the number of multiracial participants to go up. There are many residents, though, such as Laura Martin (pictured left), holding a photo of her white mother and black father, who have at least one white parent but still select "black" on their census forms, making the true number of multiracial people in America elusive. Prom-Goers' Limo Gets Repoed
At Friday's prom in Jenks, Okla., prom-goers got out of their limo only to have it repossessed by a repo man, who they initially thought was a carjacker. Galaxy Limo, the company the passengers rented the limo from, later said it was having financial issues that it had previously cleared up with the bank. Unfortunately, the repo company didn't get that message and proceeded to repossess the vehicle, even though it was being used to transport customers to the event. Galaxy Limo says it will give a partial refund or free future ride to the passengers. [CBS News]
