School lunches are just part but not the main culprit here.
The lack of physical fitness programs in school, the lack of interest by kids in after school physical activities (football, softball, basketball soccer etc) and all the overwhelming technology that keeps kids indoors and couch bound: from playing outdoors and only focused on watching TV, Internet browsing/chatting and other social programming devices that makes and keeps kids stagnant & seditary.
And blame the lazy parents who won't push their kids to partcipitate in exercise activities and buy all the salty and sugary groceries for kids to eat (cookies, candy, fast food) instead of cooking meals at home, maintaining and eating a steady healthy diet.
Sugar for breakfast, salt and sugar at lunch and salt and sugar for dinner and late night snacks with very little or no excerise involvement.
