The Arizona House of Representatives recently approved a provision requiring President Barack Obama to prove that he is a natural-born citizen before the state agrees to place him on the ballot in 2012. He must have his birth certificate approved by the state's attorney general in order to run in the next election.
Sinema issued the following statement:
"Republicans continue to take Arizona down the wrong track by wasting taxpayers time on frivolous legislation instead of working on important issues like health care for kids and seniors and education."
"Republican Rep. Judy Burges amendment to Senate Bill 1024 today would require the Arizona secretary of state to verify a presidential candidate's birth certificate before the candidate's name is allowed on a ballot in Arizona. A presidential candidate already is required to prove that he or she is a naturally born citizen before they can run for that office."
"This bill is nothing more than a waste of taxpayers time when the legislature should be working to fix more important issues like the fact that it eliminated KidsCare, which forfeits all federal health care dollars for kids and seniors in Arizona."
At the National Leadership Forum, hosted this past week by Rev. Al Sharpton, I had the chance to speak extensively with the rapper Chuck D from Public Enemy. In the early 1990s, Chuck wrote a controversial song, called 'Can't Wait Till I get to Arizona.' In the song, Chuck expounds on the racism of this state, mostly in reaction to the fact that voters were unwilling to acknowledge the Martin Luther King Holiday.
Arizona seems to have its own brand of racism. It's a more subtle kind of racism, one that seems to imply that people of color are more likely to be evil, indecent, immoral and deceptive. They even have a sheriff in the state, Joe Arpaio, who prides himself on being "the toughest sheriff in the nation." Arpaio has reinstituted chain gangs and makes the inmates stay outside in 110-degree heat. The sheriff has been investigated for civil and human rights violations, and many of those who are affected by his behavior are black and brown people.
Sinema is correct: Arizona is surely becoming the laughing stock of America. Even John McCain shouldn't be proud to come from a state that works so hard to turn back the hands of time. At the same time, Arpaio is nearly 78 years old and McCain is 74. They can't keep up these habits forever, and America will eventually move on without them.

Who are those people who are asking for The President's birth certificate? Where did they come from? Where is their proof of birth? Can they prove that they are telling the truth? Don't they need to be put under the same spotlight they put the president under? And they talk about socialism.....

I love how whenever black folks are talking about how wonderful Obama is, everyone forgets that he's half Cracke_ too. Oh, oops, don't forget to delete the r, would hate to offend anyone. By the way, our men and women in troops work alot harder than any criminal here in the states in a lot hotter conditions than the convicted felons in Arizona, and you don't hear them crying for their mommies. Maybe you guys should go take a midol or something. Need a tampon to go with your whine?

They are people just like me who can't see why Obama wouldn't want to prove his birth place to put an end to the question. There are a lot of questions he can't or will not answer.

America's white folks racism exposed for the world to see again.
To Ed: You and many others on this thread have shown how ignorant you are. Go to school and get some education. I bet you ignorant asses call yourselves Christians. Ha! God himself would spit on you for lying and defaming his name with your racism and ignorance.
White folks need to calm down before all their heads explode. Take how you feel about Obama and multiply that 100 times and that is how I feel about George W Bush and the republican't party of no.

It upsets me to see how we as people of color can say continue to say things like this. It almost makes me ashamed to be black. As I read these comments my heart became heavy. Some of you say that the Whites are being racist, yet make us all look ignorant when you say hateful and racist things yourself in your comment. We can do better than that. We are not black, or white - We are American.

You obviously have never been out of the U S - because all countries require on demand some ID. Citizens of most countries have passports. If you travel to another country you have to have your passport and an entry visa- approval by thet country for you to be there. You too should have a passport- and to have it you will have to produce a certified copy of your birth certificate. Obamas problems arise from comments by his relatives in Kenya that they were there when he was born-- and obama's refusal to explain how he traveled to Indonesia-Pakistan- wherever-- years before he had a U S passport- which he obtained after he became Senator. You must not have a drivers license because if you did you would have to have a birth certificate. You have never been in the military-- birth certificate again. To get a passport- birth certificate. So since we all have to have our available- why doesn't obama? Whats the big deal. All the questions would go away if he would answer these questions about birth and passports. So whats the big deal?

As I read through these posts, I continually find comments that I want to respond to. For instance, "Yurdelite" shows her ignorance and racism by accusing those who disagree with her of being Christians (it would be nice if that were true, but that is a completely unfounded, ignorant, atheist accusation), and of being racists, then shows her own racism, with her remarks about Bush (if disagreeing with Obama makes one a racist, then certainly disagreeing with Bush also makes one a racist, right?).
Then there's the inability of "Jen" to read and comprehend, as she accuses "Bob" of being an out-of-touch white man (my guess, based on his statement, would be that he is black, but it's actually hard to say, one way or the other - as it should be). Then she says that "...Dr. Boyce is a DOCTOR and that he'll be forever! He would never be a janitor." So, does that somehow make him infallible?! And what's wrong with being a janitor? Does that, also, make one a racist in Jen's eyes?
To condense this, let me say that, since the State of Hawaii has steadfastly refused to produce, and Obama has steadfastly refused to show, a legitimate birth certificate, and there are several indications that he is a natural-born Kenyan, the Constitution is being ignored, if not abrogated. If all of the Obamapologists are so convinced, why can't even ONE of them produce this required proof? This just goes to show what Oprah's and Obama's $700,000,000 war chest can buy (such as, for instance, a judge or two?).
Dr. Watkins mentions having attended a forum hosted by Al Sharpton, a claim that one would not expect from one who wants to disassociate himself from racism. Then he defines "racism" for the State of Arizona, a rather broad brush with which to paint. As he speaks of said "racism," he refers to Joe Arpaio: " The sheriff has been investigated for civil and human rights violations, and many of those who are affected by his behavior are black and brown people." A good writer/journalist would then complete that statement with "...but many of them are not - and said investigation has produced no proof of such violations." Would he not then be able to describe Arizona's and Arpaio's racism as anti-white (I personally, agree that human rights violations are being violated, but that they have nothing to do with race)?
The anti-white, pro-Obama racists of today are surely becoming the laughing stock of America and the world. Hopefully, the Sharptons, Watkinses, Obamas, and (Henry) Gateses of the world, and their counterparts, the KKK and white supremacists, won't be able to keep up these habits forever, and America and the world will finally be able to move on without them.

There's a White Man for Ya! Bob's mummy lied to him that it's his world. Now he has to live with the realization of what a big fat lie that is, since he never amounted to anything, but a Black Man did. Dr. Boyce is a DOCTOR and that he'll be forever! He would never be a janitor.
So why don't run to mamma boy?
