Allen E. Brown (pictured above) delivered an early Mother's Day present that no one in the family will ever forget. He is sending his mother, Tecora Brown, on a one-way trip to prison after telling authorities of her involvement in a New Jersey prostitution ring.
Brown, 73, (pictured below) pleaded guilty to promoting prostitution between April 2000 and December 2004, and prosecutors have asked for probation of one to five years for the elder Brown.
Her 48-year-old son, who is known as Prince, pleaded guilty to first-degree racketeering and second-degree theft by extortion. The state has recommended that he receive 20 years in prison.
In exchange for his plea, Allen Brown was forced to do what most sons would consider unthinkable: to snitch on his mother, who owned the Society Hill home where he ran his prostitution ring.
Seems like pimping was a family business, since the prostitution ring also included a niece and a nephew of Tecora Brown, authorities said.
It would be an understatement to say that the Brown family is a bit dysfunctional. In truth, the Brown's barely qualify as human.
Allen Brown's crimes of taking vulnerable young girls and twisting their minds with beatings, alcohol and drugs to have sex with strangers is unthinkable. Luckily, it will be a long time before he sees life outside of a prison cell.
And no one should be more sensitive to the horrors of that crime than another woman. So Tecora Brown likely has an especially hot place in Hades waiting for her to pay for her involvement in this crime.
What kind of "Mother" would allow young girls to be abused like this under her roof?
No one in this family deserves an ounce of compassion, but I still don't understand why Allen Brown testified against his mother -- like all of a sudden he developed a conscience.
It's not like Allen Brown won any great reduction in his sentence. After all, he is still looking at 20 years if prosecutors get their way.
I understand that Tecora Brown is no innocent bystander in this case. She was doing wrong and will pay the price for it, but for some reason, I feel that knowing her son turned on her in an attempt to reduce his own sentence will make for an especially bitter Mother's Day 2010 for the Brown family.
Anthony Hopkins was a God-fearing Christian. As he traveled throughout the rural South, preaching the word of the Lord, he would always have his Bible in tow. Folks who would gather to hear him preach stood in awe. Many even referred to him as a "prophet." This preacher did more than spread the Holy word, though. Little did Hopkins' followers know that he was a possible murderer, rapist and child molester.

Four days after Haiti's earthquake, infant Jenny was rescued from the rubble and pulled from the arms of a dead woman. The baby was brought to the University of Miami medical center in terrible condition, and doctors did not expect her to survive, even though doctors called her "a miracle." Yesterday, Jenny was reunited with her parents, who had believed she was dead.

"Reginald Thomas is the type of father that all men, especially black men, should try to emulate. Thomas was a building superintendent in Chicago who lost his job and the apartment that came with it. He and his 8-year-old son, Reggie Jr., ended up in a homeless shelter while he tried to find a new job and apartment for them...."
So the author of the article feels sorry for Ms. Brown because of her age? There is no honor among thieves so since she was a willing participant the same rules apply to her.
She's obviously not as sweet as she looks. Whose to say this ring didnt involve underage children or runaways? Save your sympathy for the victims involved, not her.
As always Carla you are right on the money!! Yes he was involved also but that does not mean he did not wake up and see what he was doing. But to me it does not matter!! And once again this author tries to stick to the old "snitches get stitches" saying. Which is just why so many crimes in the urban areas continue to go on with almost no arrest!! And they we complain that the police are not doing their jobs to protect us?? Well if we are not going to help them, how can they help us???? Peepz need to stop falling for this BS thinking and start reporting these crimes and having these crooks locked the hell up so we can get our streets and city's back for the hard working caring peepz trying to do good in this world!!! F the thug mentality!! I'll snitch on your AZZ in a second, if it cost me taking a bullet then make sure your bring your big gun!!!
r we feeling sorry for the mother.. She should be embarrassed that she was even involved. How would she feel if her daughter was being pimped out for money. it's a disgrace. She's just as guilty. There are many parents losing the battle with preventing their children from being victims of violence, rape, molestation, robbery and murder and here this parent encourages prostitution. WTH
Absolutely, that the author of the mess seems to be more upset about the son's testimony rather than the mother's CRIME makes no sense. And to use the word "snith" reveals a low-class ghetto mentality. BV's really needs to upgrade its writers.
