There has been a recent spate of stories involving rumors surrounding President Obama's relationship with a campaign aide in 2008. While the stories have resurfaced in the last couple of months, the underlying event is actually quite old. So, for those of you too busy looking for dates on Facebook, watching BET, loving Jeebus or fighting dogs in your backyard, here's the alleged "story." But I ain't one to gossip so you ain't heard it from me:

Vera Baker (pictured above) was a member of Barack Obama's campaign team when he was running for the Senate. Previously, she had served as the National Finance Director on Senator Barack Obama's 2004 Senate Campaign. She was a major fundraiser, responsible for raising millions of dollars for Obama's campaign. Her organization was the top fund-raising firm during the 2004 elections.

Rumor has it that on the night of May 18, 2004, Vera Baker was dropped off at a D.C. hotel by a limo driver, where she allegedly spent the night with Barack Obama. Reportedly, there are videos of Obama in compromising positions with Vera Baker. There are also unsubstantiated reports that a team of software engineers have found incriminating e-mail exchanges between Obama and Vera Baker.

An unnamed National Enquirer reporter is said to have confirmed with the limo driver that he did, in fact, drop Vera Baker off at Barack Obama's hotel on the date in question, adding that he waited in the lobby while Baker changed her clothes upstairs. ABC News and NBC News reportedly interviewed the limo driver at the time, who verified his account of what occurred. Vera Baker is said to be currently residing on the Caribbean island of Martinique. One popular rumor has it that Vera Baker was removed from her duties when Michelle Obama discovered what was going on, and demanded that Baker be banished to Martinique.

Two years ago, when the rumor first surfaced, Vera Baker, who was 33 at the time, emphatically stated that "Nothing happened" between herself and Barack Obama.

This time, Vera Baker has retained an attorney to help her counter the rumors that she was once Obama's mistress, which she says are "absolutely false."

The National Enquirer is actively investigating the rumored Barack Obama - Vera Baker affair.

Clearly none of these so-called e-mails or videos have surfaced. So as of now, these are nothing but vicious lies, rumor and innuendo - the three best friends of the Internet and the Twitter.

I never say never, but the notion that this rumor has been around for two years during the time of the presidential campaign of the first African American president ever, and nothing came out then? I have to imagine there were operatives whose only mission in life was to find dirt on then-candidate Barack Obama. And they had nuthin'.

At least we've seen Jay-Z's love child, who by the way looks JUST LIKE HIM. Allegedly. But I digress.

Anyway, there is currently a reward of $1 million being offered to anyone who can confirm that an affair between Barack Obama and Vera Baker actually occurred. You can also claim the money if you've had an affair with him yourself and you want to share it with the world.

Unfortunately, this just looks like another sad ploy by the Obama haters to once again undermine his presidency.

The Muslim argument didn't fly, the Birthers movement is DOA (and stupid), Obama as a racist fell flat and the Teabaggers all misspelled words on their signs. So I guess this is just their latest pathetic attempt to destroy the president.

It's actually quite sad to know that so many citizens want nothing more than this president to fail. They must have very unhappy lives. It's like that white guy in 'Mississippi Burning' who poisoned his black neighbor's livestock (look it up).

Well, time will tell, but as far as I'm concerned, until I see the proof, don't nobody better say nuthin' bad about President Barack Hussein Obama!
