The strange case of the white segregationist murder took another twist, when Vincent McGee (pictured above), the black man held in the slaying of white supremacist Richard Barrett (pictured below), said a gay advance by Barrett was the reason he beat and stabbed the man to death in April.
Even though Barrett was an attorney, who for decades has traveled the country spreading his racist segregationist views, he shared a friendly visit with McGee the night of his death.
The white racist then tried to make things a little TOO friendly, according to McGee.
Police in Mississippi are trying to unravel the events of April 21 that led to Barrett's death. One major problem for investigators is that McGee, 22, has supplied contradictory and inconsistent statements to police.
McGee's mother said Barrett, 67, had visited the home she shares with her son for about an hour for a friendly chat. Vincent McGee told police he then visited Barrett's home to use his computer, when Barrett made a sexual advance.
In another statement, McGee said he went to Barrett's home to collect a debt, when Barrett dropped his pants and asked for a sexual act. McGee told police he then hit and stabbed Barrett, whose house was also set on fire.
Meanwhile, police have raised robbery as a motive, saying they found a gun and wallet McGee took from Barrett's home.
It was a fittingly bizarre ending to the life of a bizarre man.
Barrett moved from the East Coast to Mississippi in 1966 and then created a racist organization called the Nationalist Movement, outside of Jackson. Barrett tried several stunts through the years to grab news media attention for his racist beliefs, but they generally ended in failure.

"It was a fittingly bizarre ending to the life of a bizarre man." Are you deranged. NO ONE should be beaten, stabbed and you left out BURNED to death. Also I see you didn't see fit to update the story that this 22 year old had just gotten out of parchment in February after doing 5 years for grand larceny. Or the Fact that he was charged with capital murder.

the chips aren't falling RIGHT and what better way to get rid of the evidence by setting the scene with fire..
I don't know of- or ever heard of ANY racist who want anything to do with african americans other than what they are known for..let alone a white american male racist wanting to have sex with an african american male.. otherwise its no secret racist white male are known for raping african american females..yet refer to them as apes..
..is it me or is it obvious the alleged murderer is likely gay?..
..and wasn't the victim in his 80's or not that much younger than 80 something..
..regardless what the TRUE story is..the defendant murdered a another person..not justified as shelf defense according to his sworn statement-which would had been his only hope..and because he did not state as such he's doomed- as a blackmale killing a older white male in the south..
I feel sorry for the alleged murderer for stooping to the alleged crime committed-if in fact what happened as he said happen- and he murdered his neighbor a known racist because he made a sexual pass at the defendant who is likely gay?(don't know if so)..please don't be gay..if so..the defendant will be proven a liar..
..any male who tats his face..is insecure and craves attention like a little child...
