Amy Kremer (pictured above right), leader of the
Tea Party Express, a peculiar anti-Obama movement that has swept the conservative part of the nation, was on the "
The View" attempting to defend that which cannot be defended. Even
Elisabeth Hasselbeck, the most conservative host on the show, attacked the Tea Party movement for being racist.
That's when Kremer went on the defense. She first explained to Hasselbeck that the Tea Party movement is not about racism, it's about fiscal issues. She also claimed that her enemies are trying to discredit their organization. What was most interesting was when Kremer went on to try to argue that President
Barack Obama's "Tea Baggers" name is the same as calling someone the N-word.On comments like that, I have to tap in to my inner
Gary Coleman: "What you talkin' 'bout, Amy?"
To compare the use of the term "Tea Bagger" to the N-word is not only false, but incredibly weak and problematic. Such a comparison can't be made with good sense, and for Kremer to say such a thing only adds insult to the injury that her group has caused minority groups across the nation.
One point that Kremer accurately made, however, is that it is patently unfair that we live in a nation where those who vehemently disagree with President Obama are somehow racist. I think this assessment is wrong, since there are African Americans who can't stand Obama and many well-intended white Americans who don't like him either. The problem is that racism is such an elusive social disease that it's hard to identify it when it happens to be present. Even most racists don't know that they're racist, and would never admit to being so.
Another point that can be made in light defense of the Tea Party Express (which, for the most part, has become labeled as a ridiculous, extremist movement), is that the party itself does not deserve to be identified by its fringe elements. Yes, there are those who are going to use the Tea Party Movement as a cover for their own racist hatred of President Obama, but those who show up to events with racist signs and language do not represent everyone in the group. The Tea Partiers, however, would do best to facilitate this process by working extra hard to exclude racists from their camp. Any sign of racism, either blatant or subtle, should be removed from their group immediately.
I don't like what the Tea Party Express stands for politically, since I do not agree with their views. Also, the anger by which they attack President Obama certainly stinks of the damaging subtle racism which cripples the rest of our society. But on the other hand, the Tea Party Express represents the very best America has to offer, because they are putting their freedom of speech and expression to work and letting the government know what they think. There's nothing more patriotic than that.

@mike
don't worry about black people to much. there mindless, blind sheep, always on a pity party
@savages
its funny how all you blacks like to label the tea party members as a bunch of racists. But you all so conveniently never mention rev. wright and all that racist bs he was preaching against white people. and o yeah, obama went there for 20 years or so. obama is a racist plain and simple. but since he is black he can't be a racist LOL. i swear black people are so stupid. you people follow him around like he is the messiah. like i said you people are mindless, blind sheep, or rather gorillas if you will. i bet most of you out there don't even know why you voted for barack obama other than because he is black. everytime i see a black person try to argue about why obama is the best they can never give specifics. most of you blacks do not know what barack obama's policies even are. such primitive thinking by you guys. your intelligence allows you only to see that since he is your color he's good and can do no wrong. hey to break your bubble black people by it's you guys that are the racists. so stop crying racism over everything and accusing whites of being racists when blacks are the most racist people on the planet. doesn't matter what a white person does, you hate them. so can you be so mad when we hate you right back. no wonder why we strung you people up from trees, LOL. if we could i would have all you hanging like apples

Thank you Mr. 223, for your very intelligent insight on the Black culture. You have proven beyond a reasonable doubt, that your culture is racist, violent, hatefull, ignorant, opressive,and in need of rehabilitation. If you leave your home address I'll see what I can do to help you. Who loves you my white brother?

Study those people. It is a common trait of theirs to turn everything back around and use it on those who speak negatively of them. Just as if they were elementary school children. I call it "reverseism".
If you call them racist, they call you racist, if you say discrimination, they say reverse-discrimination. If you say tea bagger, they say "N"...Their logic is always flawed but the people they reach out to, either have no critical thinking or are just plain ignorant and blinded by racism and greed etc. So whatever they say or do works for them. It's what keeps "America" the racist one sided, selfish, tyrannical way it is.
It's how we roll in a country that robs it's people and splits the money between the high rollers while leaving the population just enough to keep them quietly dying.
Tea party members are mostly "whites" who are building a momentum of hate created mainly by the appearance, to them, of a "black" man they think is in control. Some of the leaders of that group may know better but they have a mission for the other misinformed, and absolutely ignorant followers. We will have to wait to see how this plays out to find out what they really accomplish, but I can guarantee in won't be favorable to the masses and especially not to "blacks".

During the Katrina catastrophe which the "leaders" of the country helped create, and had no quick action to help the mainly "black" people recover from. I heard my mother complaining how "those "Ns" were stealing flat screens". I tried to explain to her that these were poor people who have watched the media flaunt these fancy TVs but were too poor to buy one. I also tried to explain to her that TVs didn't matter in this case where the city was let down by our so-called government and it's corrupt politicians. She is too ignorant and conditioned by "white" societal norm to understand how her thinking is flawed in so many ways.
I once tried to speak to her about the imbalance in the prison system with so many African-American youth being imprisoned. Her reply was "That's where them "Ns" need to be!" She had no knowledge of the CIA dumping drugs into our neighborhoods or that the constitution allows the prison system to be the only form of legal slavery in this country.
Yes my African-American mother was raised serving well to do "white" families and bringing their children's hand me downs to me and my sister she lied about our stepfather. She loves to fish and she is always complaining about how those "Ns" are always messing things up for the good "white" folks at the lake. She loves "White" people and thinks very lowly of "blacks". Yep that's my Americanized, whitewash-conditioned mom.
How many of our people would turn on us in favor of helping "white" people? I'd say judging by the rise of people like Clarence Thomas, Condie Rice,and Colin Powell, who helped bring drugs into our neighborhoods on military craft. Lots and lots of colored folks are eager to serve us up to the "white" man! So...Does that make me racist? I dare say I think all people have beauty, and some people are psychopaths. While others are just plain ignorant.

Quote by Whitey Mc Devil: "Let's not kid ourselve's here, Mr. type on about nothing. There are WAY WAY more black racists than white racists. I know, You won't agree and, I don't care if you do or not."
---------------------------------------------------
Feling a little vulnerable I see, Mr. McDevil since you have no response just like the typical White person's response in regards to discussions about racism corresponding with Blacks since you have very little viewpoint, a lack of historical knowledge, no educational balance, constantly living in the state of White denial about race and since you have no real justification or opinion about race, you do what you all do, deflect and blame Black folk by calling them racist when your ancestors created and prospered from this horrid human dynamic in the first place.
"There are WAY WAY more black racists than white racists. I know".......is that's all you got? Is that the best that you can do?
I guess that you also have "Black friends", "know Black people" and "have no problems with Black people" too.
You're shyt is so weak and transparent that your blogger name choice "Whitey Mc Devil" should be dropped by you and placed back in blogosphere and given to someone else White and give them the opportunity to use it on this site. Someone who can represent it's White racist meaning because you certainly can't!
I can respect a racist White boy who can bring it, unlike you sorry White azz.
And the last part of your response " I don't care if you do or not."......that is so 4th grade.

I agree with everything that OOOZZZZZ had to say. It is a shame that this country USA,has become so seperated since a "BLACK PERSON" has taken office in the White House. Where were these same BIG MOUTH IDIOTS when Bush was screwing up our country AND SENDING OUR CHILDREN OFF TO FIGHT A WAR? Nothing was being said because he is WHITE, and all the PRESIDENTS BEFORE HIM WAS WHITE. You can't tell me there isn't a bunch of RACIAIST POLITICIANS in offices where we have placed them with our VOTES. I USED to be PROUD to be an AMERICAN, I used to feel SAFE being an AMERICAN, but now it seems as if time has return the same HATRED DARKEN DAYS back to AMERICA, all because a certian group of peolple can't accept the fact that OUR ELECTED PRESIDENT, BARACK OBAMA is and will make CHANGES that WILL PUT THIS COUNTRY BACK IN THE NUMBER ONE ranked position, IN POWER AND FAIR JUSTICE TO ALL PEOPLE. AND TO MAKE IT THE MOST PROFITABLE COUNTRY IN THE WORLD,only if we as AMERICANS work with him and not against him. HE will go down in history as ONE OF THE GREATEST PRESIDENTS THAT EVER PLACED HIS FOOT IN THE WHITE HOUSE.There are a large group of people that don't remember that there were another MAN before BARACK,that help a lot of WOMEN, white and black, non-AMERICANS, not caring what RACE CREED OR COLOR, BUT FOR FARE JUSTICE IN THIS WORLD FOR ALL,AND TO BE JUDGED BY THE CONTENT OF THEIR CHARACTER.ARE WE FREE YET AMERICA, ARE WE FREE????
