A senior citizens center near Port Wentworth, Ga., forbade elderly residents from praying before their meals. Now, it seems, residents' prayers have been answered. The strict policy that was enforced at the center has been changed to allow prayer before a meal.
Up until now, while the residents of the Ed Young Senior Citizens Center were not allowed to pray before breaking bread, they could observe a moment of silence.
According to Senior Citizens Inc., which operates the center, the meals are federally funded, which means prayer violates the First Amendment, separating church and state. The moment of silence substitution was started to calm the natives, who were up in arms about not being allowed to pray.
The elder care residence started receiving some negative press about their no-prayer policy, and lo and behold, this week senior center officials lifted the ban. A statement was released by the center:
"We are so pleased to say that we have been contacted a few minutes ago by the new Director of Aging clarifying the regulation and reversing the position of new verbal prayer. As an organization, we feel that spirituality is an important and necessary part of a full life and we are thankful that this interpretation of the regulation makes prayer possible in all of its forms."
Who says miracles don't happen?

God Is just who he says he is, because he just made his presence felt. Those people should be ashamed forbibbing prayer that is ridiculous!

Please tell me what liberals have to do with it? First learn what liberal means. It means to have an open mind to hear all.

Wow no prayer before a meal huh...so who set this rule. I want the World to know theres no way on earth that any rule or one can stop anyone from praying. You don't have to move an inch of your mouth or body to pray...just pray in your secret closet. Now...if any of the prayers know God they would know this. You mean to tell me... you going to let folks tell you when you can pray ... or bless your food, and all you have to do is meditate unto the LORD in your own mind. COME ON PEOPLE!!!

Aint nobody forcing Christianity on people! Jesus did not even force people. It is freedom of religion not freedom from religion. If the flying imams can pray for death on Americans at an airport before a flight and win a civil suit these elderly people can make the sign of the cross if they are Catholic, raise their hands to the Lord if they are full gospel, or any thing else. I don't feel I have to hide the fact that I am saying grace in public. Aint doing nothing wrong!

Yea, I would before I would just not pray but these are elderly people tht have been making the cross and raising their hands to the Lord for many years. No one has the right to tell them they have to pray any certain way or not pray any certain way. Freedom of religion.
