The latest in the case of
Aiyana Jones, the 7-year-old girl killed in a Detroit Police Raid:
Rev. Al Sharpton is to deliver the eulogy at the funeral for Aiyana Jones: Civil Rights leader Rev.
Al Sharpton is set to appear in Detroit on behalf of the family of Jones and speak at her funeral. I spoke with Sharpton right after the shooting, and there is a great deal of concern about what happened, as well as unanswered questions.
The suspect arrested (Chauncey Louis Owens) in the raid that killed Aiyana Jones is charged by police: The allegation is that Owens shot a 17-year-old because he "looked at him the wrong way" at a store. There's no other way to describe the senseless nature of both of these deaths.
Funeral arrangements have been made for Aiyana Jones: Visitation will be Friday, May 21, at the Swanson Funeral home. The funeral will follow on Saturday, May 22, but a location has not yet been announced.
Detroit Mayor Dave Bing breaks his silence in the death of Aiyana Jones: Bing is targeting the attorney in the family's lawsuit,
Geoffrey Fieger, claiming that he is only interested in money.
I'd spent some time critiquing the fact that Bing took so long to issue a statement to the public. The Detroit community needs strong leadership in a time like this.

To MoMo, beside you calling yaza names and racial slurs, way to show your true self, what did Yaza say that was not true??? You give no argument against what was said. Last month cincinnati had like 12 murders with in 2 weeks. All the peeps killer where black and so were the suspects. The Mayor held a rally about it, but Al did not show up or make any statement. Heck Mr Smitherson, the head of the NAACP in cincinnati did not even show up? He made not statement in the press either! Peeps want to say that no one(meaning whites) don't care when a black on black crime happens, but it is the supposed black leaders that are the ones that do not care. When Cincinnati held another event about the killings there were peeps of all colors there to show their support and help!! But no reps/leaders of the Black community that love to shove their face in the limelight when it suits them?? So maybe you can explain that to me??

I have seen this officer Joseph Weekley's face. And I will tell you the truth IF he is allowed to continue on the force and he as much as pulls me over for a traffic ticket. If it comes down to me and him I will take his life out of self defense. IF he got away with murdering Aiyana Jones which so far he has. What would stop him from murdering me. AND if and when they do issue a warrant for the arrest of this bastard I hope they throw a flash grenade in his house on top of one of his children and shoots them now that would be POETIC JUSTICE.
