We hope those prayers are answered and that Gary will be able to recover and return home soon," Coleman's wife Shannon Price said in a statement to a local television station.

Child star Gary Coleman is in critical condition in a Utah hospital.

A spokeswoman for Utah Valley Regional Medical Center in Provo confirmed to CNN that Coleman, 42, is being treated there.

Coleman is best known for his role as Arnold Drummond on the sitcom 'Diff'rent Strokes.'

His stardom on the show led to appearances in several movies and commercials, but life has been difficult for Coleman since. Most of the years following the show have been tabloid fodder.

He sued his parents for spending most of the fortune he earned as a child actor. He also has suffered for years with kidney problems. Coleman has had two kidey transplants.

More recently, Coleman has had several run-ins with the law. In January, he was arrested on a domestic violence warrant. He eventually pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor criminal mischief charge. Coleman also recently blew up on the set of 'The Insider' when one of the hosts went at him over his treatment of wife Shannon Price (pictured above).

The host was purposefully being a jerk and trying to goad the actor, but Coleman looked terrible as he yelled and cursed at the woman before storming off the set.

Also in January, he was rushed to the hospital after suffering a seizure. BV will keep you updated on his condition.
